The man with the best voice, best way with words, best receding hairline, best laugh, best sense of humor, best guitar player (maybe not, but it's your birthday), best arms, bestest veins, best writer of songs about rapists, murdered tranis, disgruntled boyfriends, vampires, erectile dysfunction, fallen women, cunts, whiskey, American Indians, no money, trucks, camaros, problems, Coup DeVilles, pregnancy, lusty preachers, lusty preachers' daughters, geniuses, STDs, groupies, people whose sex is on fire, and people who can use somebody or even be somebody, gorgeous whores, brothels and many other curious things. Thanks for not going to the army. Not becoming a chef. Not continuing to be a construction worker or painter of semis. Not even becoming a preacher. Have a helluva birthday! You are the King.  |

Thank you for being the fucked up you are, for the scratchy voice, for your pretty pretty (maniac) laughter, the crazy haircuts, the songs (gotta tell you 'thank you' again for 'Cold Desert'; hope I can tell you someday what it means to me and how it helped through hard times)... Above all, thank you for being so present in my life, without even knowing it The moments I cherish the most are the ones where I can truly see (and feel) how music can change lives and make things better. Happy birthday again! Hope you get to enjoy this day to fullest, as all the others.
