I did not say you were deluded for having an opinion.
Caleb, Jared, Matt and Nathan are Kings Of Leon.
For me, this means that anything the four of them do together (in whatever combination, using whatever instruments) under the name 'Kings Of Leon' will be considered the work of Kings Of Leon. Therefore I believe that your reasoning (without Caleb singing, KOL would not be KOL) for your opinion on the initial question (Could/should Nathan sing lead vocals occasionally? No.) is delusional.
All in my own opinion of course.

I think what Ali meant was that they would not retain their KOL 'sound'.

Are you still banging this drum? I did not come back to talk to you in any capacity, I came back to explain to Moose that my reaction wasn't due to the concept of Nathan singing itself. I don't really care. I was answering an interesting hypothetical question with my own personal view. As I have already said, I don't wish it to happen in terms of a full song, I have explained my deluded reasons why, and I have then stated that I would still listen to them, I would still give it ample chance. And, who knows, it could be bloody marvellous! Nobody can give a right or wrong answer on this question because it is all down to one's own view on something that has not yet occured.
Discussion is not something I have a problem with. I would happily have discussed this with you. I disagree with people frequently about all kinds of things, and we all get along fine. But that is because they respect my opinion and I respect theirs. We do not shoot each other's thoughts down and act superior to one another. We discuss why we feel the way we do without personal attacks or condescending attitudes.
Whether it's that you say I have deluded reasons for my opinion or that the act of having an opinion itself is deluded, you are still belittling what I said after having asked people for their thoughts, so let's call a spade a spade shall we, instead of battling with the finer nuances of the English language? You are not the world authority on musical opinion, it is subjective. I did not belittle your opinion; why you feel you have the right to belittle mine, particularly as others have shared similar thoughts?
So let it go would you? Talk to the other people in this thread in a friendly manner about why they agree or disagree with you instead of jumping on every word I say when I was not even talking to you in the first place.
EDIT: Thank you Nee, that is what I meant. But clearly I worded it so appallingly that that view was fair game for condescension.

.... Ali's not delusional.... And I still think the man needs a 5 minute, spontaneous drum solo with a vocal "Boats and Hos" declaration in the end. That's really all I want Nate to bring to the table.

i love nathans voice, i love his backup vocals and i think it would be quite interesting to hear him sing lead even just for a verse or maybe a little part in a song like jared has his part during 'use somebody'. on the other hand i actually love his backup vocals so much because it sounds so beautiful combined with calebs voice, if you know what i mean. their voices harmonize so much, it's incredible! all in all we all know nathan has a beautiful voice and i love to hear him sing live. so so good for my ears

No. Just because Keith Richards knows how to sing, doesnt mean he should sing instead of Mick. Nathan is the drummer for Kings of Leon. He should remain the drummer for Kings of Leon. If he ever goes to make a country record with Caleb, or whatever, he can do whatever he wants. I totally agree, I love the way the guys mantain a certain structure to the band. That's the way it should be for me at least.

Are you still banging this drum? You are not the world authority on musical opinion, it is subjective.. Dang, as much as I hate to resurrect a 3 year-old thread, I just have to get something off of my chest. You may be the dumbest most insecure person I have ever seen post on a forum. Someone asks a genuinely good question, you express an obviously DELUDED (sorry, forgive me, but look it up if you don't know what it means) opinion. You are right, you are entitled to your opinion, but if no one can call it into question without you getting all defensive and whiney, you have some mental issues/need to see a professional psychiatric specialist. Hope that clears things up. Maybe you were just in a weird spot three years ago. No matter the reason, SOMEONE needs to set people like you straight. By the way, I would love to hear Nathan get some lead vocals. Maybe not for an entire song, but that still would not bother me in the least. It would STILL be Kings of Leon. Hell, it would still be Kings of Leon if Caleb played Drums, Nate did vocals, and Jared and Matt switched guitar/bass duties. A band is definitely the PEOPLE, not their individual contributions to a song (ever heard of a tiny little band called RADIOHEAD?). That isn't even an opinion, it's FACT.

And thank you for pissing off my best friend. You could've made your point of disagreeing with her post without your psychological evaluation, or have you been studying that too? NOT impressed with you.

NOT impressed with you. I actually do study Psychology. That's why I said it. Also, i'm not here to please you or anyone else. It's a forum. If you would go back and read every word that was said by that person I quoted, you would HAVE to understand what I am saying. If not, sorry I offended you by doing absolutely nothing to YOU.
