Arent there any videos of Kings of leon playing before they made a record? or them practicing or playing some small open mic place? I never see anything like that floating around anywhere and it would be cool to watch.

I dont know about videos, but the Followill brothers did contribute to the We Were Soldiers soundtrack, before KOL, with this song. It was written by Caleb and Nathan, but not performed by them. More info here: www.answers.com/topic/we-were-soldiersLyrics: Not So Distant Day Baby, you undo me As I lay my heart down You whisper things I can't repeat You don't make a sound Babe, you look right through me I'm naked to the bone You see my intentions The right inside my wrong And I can see the love we'll make On that not so distant day I can feel my heart unbreak As the pieces fall into place Lead my soul into your waters And I'll never sail away I can see the love we'll make On that not so distant day Baby, you can heal me Help me to come clean I know you can show me things That eyes have never seen You can take me to that higher place Where senses can be free And I can see the love we'll make On that not so distant day I can feel my heart unbreak As the pieces fall into place Lead my soul into your water And I'll never sail away I can see the love we'll make On that not so distant day Oh girl, you gotta listen to me Gotta wake up, gotta move on The bus is leaving and My memory is starting to fade I can see I can see the love baby Lead my soul into your water And I'll never sail away I can see the love we'll make On that not so distant day And I can feel my heart unbreak As the pieces fall into place Lead my soul into your water And I'll never sail away I can see the love we'll make On that not so distant day I see the day...

Heheh, thanks. Wonder if the Followill Brothers even remember that they did this?

I listened to the song but it definitely doesn't sound like anything they would write, but I might be wrong. How did you find out about this?

She's a Leblopedia. Also, I couldn't find it on Limewire but I listened to a clip on Amazon, and I could see them writing it. I mean it's obviously not KOL, but yeah.

I could see it in the writing, but they werent the ones singing it, so it doesnt "seem" KOL-ish. I think Caleb's voice and delivery are such a huge part of the KOL identity that anything of theirs which isnt sang by them, doesnt "sound" like KOL.
I dont know, I just know a lot of obscure KOL facts, i guess.

They should make a film on their lives and how they started out .. it will be cool to see that.

Eh, maybe in like 20 years or so. I think it'd be kinda lame to do a biopic at this point in their lives. And someone else would have to make it.

I've heard an entire album written by Caleb and Nathan with just Caleb singing. It's quite a trip to hear, and very very very different from what they are doing today. Sounds like r&b country with drum machines and the whole nine yards.. quite a trip to hear it!

P.S. it's quite hilarious to hear that song from We Were Soldiers because it is DEFINATELY one of the songs on the album that I'm talking about with Caleb singing.

Umm... why wouldn't they want anyone listening to it? They're the ones who put it out. And Sony can go fuck themselves, sorry. Anything you can post will be appreciated, though.

How about the name of this mysterious CD? Release date? Cover?
Why does anyone care about Sony and what they think?

didodadoo As far as I know there's no way to directly upload music to Happy Alone. You would need to rip the CD and upload it to something like Sendspace, then post a link. I'm afraid that, until I hear it for myself, I'm not convinced.

I'm a bit doubtful, but I really, really hope you prove us wrong.
