I feel sorry for this thread I've been told Alabama is not too far from Nashville. I'll be in Nashville on the date of this show. Hmmmmmmmm.....

It's pretty popular over at the official site, seems as if lots of people are going (I think most of whom are going to the TN show).

I have no idea, I've never been there! But I don't believe it's very far (probably why they squeezed it in there at the last minute; it was convenient)

quick review:
The good, the bad and the ugly.
Good--White Lies
Bad--crowd and KOL
Ugly--Caleb cutting the set short, and not even finishing with Black Thumbnail.
Seems that the crowd and the band were not into each other at all. In Caleb's defense he did try to fire the crowd up, but to no avail. THe set list was boring--nothing new. Crawl, Be Somebody, The Bucket, TPJ, 4 Kicks, Notion, On CALL, SOF, I want you, Revelry, Molly's Chambers, My Party, Fans, Cold Desert, Manhattan, SNSL...Encore was only 2 songs Knocked Up and Use Somebody. The concert seemed very short.
Nacho is still hobbling around, but without the crutches.
Overall, very disappointed.
Caleb did recognize people in the crowd--seems like us included, and thanked fans for following them since the beginning and around the world. At least that was nice. But he was overly impressed with some girls from Australia, who waved an Australian flag, and gave them his hankie and bottles, and whatever else. Also said that KOL are going to be "gone for a long time", so we might enjoy it while it lasts.
White Lies totally rocked, signed autographs and met fans after the show. Really good performance.
Yeh, KOL better put on a helluva show tonight and go home for a long time.

Aw I hate to hear that about the show. Hopefully Nashville and all you lovely ladies who travled here to see them will be much better!
Also, that's super cool about White Lies. I've been listening to them all morning and I'd be super excited to meet them after the show tonight. Thanks for the quick write up doll!

I attended this show. Didn't even attend early to catch White Lies I just came for the band. The plus points, Caleb did a bit of a wiggle walk during Crawl Can't beat that, shout out for fans from beginning and from around the globe. Didn't hear about the Aussie girls, hated myself for getting seated tickets, otherwise I would be out there waving my flag, being foreign and a "fan from the start". Well, B'ham (well ok an hour away from Bham) is now my home though so I will probably be only seeing American shows now. After this experience, I'm not super excited for the future. The crowd were awful, it was like a frat party without the part-tay. People half mumbling to OBTN tunes, walking out of a lot of songs from the other albums. Set list and order was dull. Kings themselves did a pretty good performance wise (though I hate Molly's Chambers live now, far too basey and chugging) but hearings of that they went to drink in Nashville as opposed to staying around in Bham didn't leave a good impression about what they thought of the place, though I 'm sure they are tired and want to end the tour. Also, another shout out about Bham was the second place they ever played, but then Caleb said not to cheer too loudly, only 4 ppl attended. I had work the next morning and I was a bit sick so I wouldn't have the resources or energy to make it to nashville if I even wanted to. It's approx. 3 and a half hour drive from B'ham. I wish I could re live that night with my front row standing tix instead of my lower level seating, it was hard enough to get into it as it was. The crowd all exited in their cars with OBTN playing, probably didn't even own a copy of the other albums. After reading the Nashville review I feel like I was really sold short. I guess we can't have the best every time.

In response to their show in Birmingham: You guys are right about the crowd. I know the band was def dissappointed in the crowd. The white lies were awesome live and they seemed to be pretty cool guys. As to why the main show was cut short I know they had to catch a flight to get back to Nashville. I believe the show ended sometime close to 10:20 their flight was leaving at 10:45. They weren't leaving early necessarily to go party in Nashville but they had a lot of family coming in town to see them Friday night in Nashville. They were nervous about everyone coming in town also. I'm not trying to make excuses for them of why they cut the show short but they did have a set time on when they had to leave. That is the main reason the show was cut short.

I love your pics Nicole it still amazes me how great they are and the video brings a tear to my eye...Caleb is a sweetie. The crowd were a little disappointing but tried just to focus on enjoying the show it had been 7mths since my last gig so i wasnt going to let slackers ruin it for me. I was the lucky one who Caleb got Jake to give his hanky to, only cos im unco and couldnt catch his water bottle. the girl next to me caught his bottle and decided to make out with it which was kinda strange. The setlist was predictable which was a shame but i had come a long way and was determined to just have the best time and i did.
