Rage Against The Machine, mostly for Zach de la Rocha's screaming and I get tired of ALL their songs being political. I mean, I love System of a Down and lots of their lyrics are political too, but they also have songs about really silly subjects, or deliver their political message with clever jokes. Two years ago I had the chance to see RATM live from side stage, but I declined and went home. Quite a few friends called 'blasphemy'..!

^Oh, agreed! There was this big push here to get them to Christmas Number 1 (which was sucessful) in place of the latest X Factor single. I bought neither, thought they were both shit.

I liked the reason for that action, but I still wouldn't have bought Rage. (or the latest X-factor offering, but that almost goes without saying. )

The Verve, cant stand them, typical Oasis indie shit if you want my opinion, radios seem to be mad about them, I will never understand why. They're boring, not very inventive, then again, just like Oasis

I could do without Arcade Fire and Radiohead from after The Bends. *cue Carrie, Jess & Nee to disagree/start arguing*

^ I love U2! they're one of my favorites. Maybe I could understand why people don't like their new stuff, but I think all of their music is great.
Hmmm, I don't really like Muse at all, with the exception of one song. I don't like newer MGMT music. and Arctic Monkeys are kind of annoying.

Maybe I could understand why people don't like their new stuff, but I think all of their music is great. me too i think those who don't like u2 usually have a problem with bono for whatever reason, so the problem is rather subjective and not so much about their music, which is a shame... and a lot of people simply don't like bands that are popular/big because they're automatically "sellouts", which i strongly disagree with. i hear this all the time about kol from their "old fans", but i don't give a fuck. i listen to music that touches my heart, that's all.

I just watched a Classic Album programme which featured The Joshua Tree. It brought back memories from high school (yea, I'm that old ) & I've always loved the singles off it. It really IS a classic album and I think I should finally buy it. I'm not much of a Bono-fan either but U2 has done some amazing stuff.

With U2, i agree--I think it's the "Bono effect". He's become way too annoying and preachy, and it's overshadowed what used to be a really good band, and probably one of the definitive 80s-90s bands.

Alexandra, I love Bullet the Blue Sky! I've always been surrounded by U2 fans, so would always hear the albums. Just never bought them myself.
