Hey everyone or tjena! I'v just started learning Swedish online with babble- which i can't recommend enough. Really fun and easy way to learn, though i've only done very basic stuff yet. Anyway i know there are a few active Swedish members on here and i was wondering if anyone would be willing to help me with learning and also to recommend some good Swedish films- i've only seen Let the Right One In and The Millenium Trilogy so anything else at all. Doesn't matter if the films are crap! so long as they're speaking Swedish because i think watching movies in a language always helps the learning process. Oh and if you reply here, or PM me would you mind writing your message in Swedish as well as English please? I know i won't understand half of it but the more exposed to a language you are the easier it is to learn and i'm not gonna be exposed to it anywhere else here i doubt! Thanks-Tack!

I'm not Swedish by far, but I think 'Fucking Åmal' and 'Lilya 4-ever' were really good films. The latter is really raw, I must warn, but I don't think you shy away from that kind of thing. And good luck, of course, learning the language!

Well i don't knnow exactly what you mean by raw but no, in general i'll watch anything. Mysterious Skin is a favourite of mine but i no a lot of people who said they couldn't even watch the first 15 minutes- which makes me sad because it really is a beautiful and touching film. The ending always has me in tears. Anyway thanks for the recommendations, i'll check them out. Karma.

Well, it's about human trafficking, so not exactly a happy subject. On top of it, they also didn't use pretty lighting, so it looks extra gloomy.

How about Arstid Lindgren films? Not only are they awesome, but the language should be simple, too

Hey, you should totally check out I skuggan av värmen (in English "In the shadow of the heat"). It's one of the best Swedish movies that I know (I tend to think that Swedish movies mostly suck actually...) and the best part of it is that Joel Kinnaman is one of the main characters!
