Ok, so seen as i acquired a lot of money from my 21st birthday i really want to buy a guitar. I have no idea about them though, i mean i know which ones i like the look of- mainly Gibsons which i'm never going to be able to afford! So i need advice on which ones are good or not. Bear in mind i'm only starting to learn guitar so subtle differences in sound quality and stuff like that aren't really going to bother me. I just want something that's going to be reliable. I don't care about effects and stuff like that either. I plan on using my brother's acoustic to start off on but then i want to buy an electric to have for myself. I have my eye on this Epiphone i've seen on the Walton's site. Here's a link to it: www.waltons.ie/Product/View.aspx?id=3330&cid=275Also love this one: www.waltons.ie/Product/View.aspx?id=11653&cid=275Or should i pay more for something like this Gibson? www.waltons.ie/Product/View.aspx?id=11342&cid=275 I really didn't want to spend more than 600 at the very most on the guitar itself so...... Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

i have an epiphone sg that was about 500 ish Canadian. it plays great! i'd say if you're just starting out maybe save a couple bucks and go for one of the cheaper sg's.
if you can just go to the guitar store and try em' out and see how they play/feel. that's the key!
sometimes just because they're more expensive it doesn't mean they're worth the cash.

Thank you! I'm thinking i'll stick with the SG too. I don't even think that Gibson is that nice.
