hahahaha how funny would it be if I wore a hat that said "asshole" on it? I am seriously thinking about it. Hell, I dressed up as Napoleon Dynamite for crying out loud!
I thought I'd buy a plain hat and print out "ASSHOLE" and tape it to the front of the hat.............

Lame!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am so livid. The Ohio State University is giving away FREE tickets to the KOL concert tonight with your OSU ID. Ha! I had a feeling something like this would happen because the venue hadn't sold out.
My dad is an OSU professor and can get free tickets. What a waste - just think of all those students/employees who spent $60 on tickets.
AND.......... just checked - GA tickets are still available for sale at ticketmaster!

I thought the show was pretty great. I couldn't say of the setlist. I am not good at remembering those things. I'm sure someone will have it up. King Of The Rodeo, Trani Manhattan and Charmer were standouts for me. I waited in line for most of the day, so thankfully, I got front and center. got some decent photos out of it, but I usually like being at the back of venues these days... I did try to get better pics of jared and matt, but it was difficult from where I was. and they seemed to be in the dark. I couldn't say how the crowd was either...seemed good from were I was! I drove 2 1/2 hours home after the show and edited some photos, which are probably better than my lame review.... so here ya go.... lisascalfarophotography.com/kingsofleon/

I am kicking myself in the head now for not going to the concert last night - because of one main reason - they played KING OF THE RODEO!!!!!!!!! We decided not to go to this concert since they gave away hundreds of free tickets to OSU university students and we didn't feel like being in in the middle of a messy drunkfest on the first night of school on campus (the arena is on campus). Apparently, this arena has an 11:00 pm cutoff time so the Kings had to end their concert a little early. I guess if you play after 11:00, the band gets fined. a review from our local paper - www.columbusdispatch.com/live/content/arts/stories/2009/09/24/review_kingsofleon.html?sid=101Just saw this on the OF: "I can confirm that Black Thumbnail wasn't played due to an 11pm curfew at the arena, which is located on campus. Matthew, especiallly, seemed upset as he kept looking at the clock during Use Somebody. I was front row center, and Caleb mouthed "i'm sorry, they're kicking us off".

Wow, did you take those photos? They're incredible! Have some (more) karma yeah, I took them, thanks! I didn't know about that curfew. I knew they left off a song because I saw the set list, as much to see another song was on the encore and the bouncers told me 4 more songs and then it was only 3. I didn't see caleb say they were being kicked off, but he was shaking his head some during knocked up, the second to last song. I thought he was disappointed in our oh oh oh oh oh oooohhhs....as I am pretty sure we weren't really singing together! I was wondering what caleb and matt kept looking at... they could have gone on early, since glasvegas didn't play a full set. I felt bad for the singer, he looked and sounded pretty rough. and actually stayed out there longer than I thought. but who ever heard of a band going on early? but I am glad to know about the curfew...

the venue kind of sucked balls...it was the first time i've ever seen them in any sort of arena. in the past its been either tiny venues or medium sized. nothing THAT LARGE. the set list was awesome, but to be completely honest i was a little dissapointed. not by the band, but by the crowd, and the size of the venue...it made the show less enjoyable for me. i remember my first kings of leon concert and it was in a tinnny venue, and everyone there was so great and welcoming and we all sang along...now its just turned into being surrounded by a shitload of people who come off un-friendly, and usually in this venue, drunk. the thing that bugs me is: (these are 2 sections from the link to the review that nicole posted)
"The last time we were here, we played to about 2,000 people," said Followill, referring to the band's January show at the Lifestyle Communities Pavilion. "There's a hell of a lot more people out there tonight."
The crowd - many who likely hadn't heard of the band more than a year ago - loudly voiced their approval, proving that in 2009 it's definitely good to be the Kings."
a lot of the people at the OSU show, you could tell were only recent fans. I was at the LC pavillion show in january and it was fucking great...maybe im just being a debbie downer. sorry for that. either way the set list was great, i was suprised to hear trani! and so happy to hear it :') caleb sounded fucking awesome, and of course nathan matt and jared...gorgeous as ever ;p
