Shelly, seriously, I dont panic often or about many things, but we had a hard time with hotels. We wanted it to be in the Downtown area, within walking distance of the venue and reasonably priced, but there were a lot of shit places which were all sticky carpets and bedbugs. So you guys hopefully can get it at the same hotel, but I wouldnt wait another week or two. By now, i know the map of Nashville like the back of my hand!!! If you need more info about the place we re stayed at at, PM me. Chris and I are like CRAZY excited!!!! I checked earlier for available rooms and there are still rooms with 2 double beds in them, I will probably book it soon if Eden doesnt get online, i'm sure she isn't going to complain but I hope she can afford it. Yeah I checked out all the cheapie hotels and pretty much all of them had roaches! Ewww what's up with that, I was thinking 'god is the south infested with bugs everywhere?' I'll gladly pay $130 a night not to have a roach run across my face while i'm sleeping! I'll let you girls know what we get when we get it!

Crap. Eden came online to update me on whats going on with her but she didnt say anything about the hotel or what I should so, so I dont know if I should wait a few more days til she comes online or if I should just book it now. Do they have a non-refund policy? If I can cancel then I could book it now otherwise I should wait til I know the girls are fine with it. But I guess I don't know why they wouldn't be.

Yet again, I've been MIA from this thread. Probably because I was thinking of applying/going to grad school in septmeber and would have to sell my ticket and miss TN. anyway, that's not happening now and the only other obstacle in my way is whatever job i'll have then.
Anyway, long story short, are people already booking hotels? I probably won't book a hotel for a while, but I'm curious about all the developments i've missed.

Shelly, the hotel we re staying at has a refund policy. I think 24 hrs. Which is good. Hope Eden can go!
Sarah--the reason we re getting hotels so early, is b/c they re filling up very quickly, and the only ones left are either far or really gross, roach-infested hell holes.

We probably looked through a good 30 hotels yesterday, narrowed it down to like 7, 4 out which were already completely booked, 3 were crappy and the last one was the winner. I think it depends whether u want to stay downtown and near the venue, and not get a car, or if u re flexible. Also the biggest martini bar in Nashville at the hotel swayed us a little

oh it's fine. happens all the time.
read on the official forum that there are two footbal games that same weekend, college on saturday and professional on sunday, that's why they're booking fast. i'm now nauseous and nervous. of course i'm going to get myself all worked up about this. shit.
i'm driving to nashville so i'll have my car so i guess it doesn't really matter where i find a place. i'm off to search the internet.

That's the hotel we are staying at Millennium Maxwell House Nashville.
You can always book it now, and if things fall through, just cancel within the cancellation policy time and you wont lose anything. better to have it and not worry about it. Considering that you seem to have other things going.

I should just go ahead and book the Millenium then since you girls got it too. If Eden doesnt like it we can cancel and switch but I'm sure she'll be fine with it!

I dont know if i'll have a job by then either but I decided fuck it LOL It won't be much more than $500 on my credit card, that's do-able. I'm gonna book a room at the Millenium now, someone else referred that one to me too and then since Nik and Chris got it, we'll have at least 5 of us in the same hotel!

Sara, Nik and I plan on re-creating MTV Hotel SOL style. bahaha. Oh fun!! Does that mean we can call up for room service and get all that alcohol? And have sexy men in our room with whom we will make out with?

Ooh i love it when hotels have bars built in! I hope they have more than just martini's though!

Okay guys, I've been looking at a few hotels now. courtyard nashville downtown 2 adults(152/night), renaissance nashville hotel 2 adults (151/night) and millenium 1 adult(100/night). i've got AAA and i think my dad has marriot rewards, which would help w/courtyard and renaissance. if he lets me use them. i haven't even told him about it, not sure if my mother has either. anyway those first two are within 2 blocks from the sommett center. as much as i like convenience and will probably be obsessive about being next to the center, i wouldn't mind staying at a hotel with other people further away. i'm a little worked up at the moment so i'm just typing as thoughts come to me, sorry they're not organized.
oh and also since i started this thread (just remembered this fact) i can edit my post to include a definite list and maybe list and the hotels booked and the hotels being looked at. so let me know those details and i'll edit it to be more organized.
also, i'm a freak about having my car with me at all times, i hate relying on people for rides places, since i'm obsessive about getting places early and leaving when i want to (god i sound neurotic in this post) but yeah, point is, i'm driving to nashville and will have my car (2-door seats 4, 5 if there's someone the size of cokedup caleb) i shouldn't drive wasted so not sure if driving to bars would work, but there's always cabs.

Cool, way to go Shelly! Awesome. MTV Hotel is becoming a reality! Let's trash the place and throw TVs out the window a la Led Zeppelin! No? Ok, we'll be polite and all, like Kings of Leon. Sarah, this hotel we are staying at is within walking distance of the venue. It was one the requirements on our list. We are undecided about getting a car. If we will, it'd be to go visit the 75 acre farm in rural TN.

If we will, it'd be to go visit the 75 acre farm in rural TN. sounds like i need to find a pair of white gogo boots. edit: i googled directions from the hotel to the sommet center and it says walking is 52 minutes. eeep.
