Sorry it took me so long..............
Last night in the car ride home we were trying to piece together the setlist as we remembered it. They played
Everything from OBTN except Revelry (damn!), 17 and I want you.
from BOTT they played Knocked up in the SECOND encore - yes they had TWO encores, On call, Charmer, Black thumbnail (I'm trying to remember all the songs - there were a LOT)
They played Four Kicks, Red Morning light, SNSL, Devil Song in the encore, crap I know I'm forgetting a bunch of songs. It was an AWESOME setlist though.
Strangest thing ever - they played Use Somebody twice!!!!!!!! Once during the show and once during one of the encores - hahahahaha
I have to preface my review with a funny (not so funny at the time) story. I was fine on the car ride down (about 2 hours) but once we got to the hotel (The Cincinnatian - holy crap, 4 star historical hotel - GORGEOUS) I started to get those pre KOL jitters. Well, first thing BF does is what guys do, take a leak. I swear that bathroom had no fan and slatted doors and I think the whole fourth floor heard him. Anyways, the jitters are getting to me and I take an immodium. Too late, I'm cramping and gassy. Real feminine when you know the bathroom you have to use echoes throughout the whole hotel, huh? Oh god I told my BF, I have GOT to go to the bathroom. I turned up the TV real loud, ran the water in the bathroom, and had my pre KOL problem in the bathroom. OK so the immodium is kicking in and calming my stomach. I asked if we could go for a walk - thought that would calm me down. It did. Damn those bathrooms - I swear it echoed so loud - and you DON'T use slatted doors for a bathroom, come on!
I'd have to say (sadly) that this show was way better than MSG. The venue was gorgeous - it was open air but completely covered overhead (I hope that makes sense). It was the most beautiful evening ever. Clear skies, not too hot, but you definitely needed a light jacket. Luckily my BF and I are old and we think of things like this. When you entered the "pavilion" there were all these booths selling margaritas, Pina coladas, beer, pizza, pretzels, wine, ALL sorts of stuff.
It was really cool, everyone was milling about (we got there early!) before the Walkmen went on. Holy crap they are such an awesome band. I'm definitely going to get a CD.
Our seats were AWESOME. We were on the second tier, row C! So close. Caleb had on the sexiest vest - mmmmmmm (waistcoat). Jared seemed like he was in a decent mood - I really didn't watch him much but when I looked over he was facing the crowd. We sat by some really cool people and had so much fun.
Caleb said "We're going to play something you guys have probably never heard before" - haha Sex on Fire ensued. He also thanked the "new" fans and recognized the "oldies" too. Yay!
No, I know you'll be disappointed but we did NOT wait around for the band after. We're old. Bedtime.
