Jared if you did some charity work maybe then you would realise how lucky you have it and appreciate what you have besides thinking about raking in the cash

hmm, i think they really actually do appreciate how lucky they are, but sometimes feeling bored/discontent is part of the human condition so...
as long as they still keep making their amazing music all is well haha. i'm so glad they make music, and aren't house painters.

Well he should show it once and a while especially considering how many people who do not have as much money as him save and scrimp for tickets to go see their gigs...and then have to put up with his sour looking face

well, i'm not trying to have a debate about it, but it's not jared followill's face fans pay to see when they go to a show, it's their music, i mean yeah a few fans will go for their looks, but i like to think the rest of the fans are genuinely into their sound and don't really give a hoot wether or not jared's smiling.

I'm sorry but I've got to kind of agree Maybe he'll handle all of this better when he's closer to Caleb & Nathan's age, because they're a lot more mature about it.

Yeah, I agree too. He's so young and he's got so much work to do (touring, interviews.. ALL THE TIME).. he needs to take some time off. and others too, obviously.
Have some rest, dear ones.

Jared hates touring, I hate ironing. What does he mean by hate anyway? This band works extremely hard in comparison with many other bands. I have no idea if Jared is grumpy, but it is quite understandable for that level of touring, for that period of time to become a chore. There is no reason why individuals in the band should feel the same about it or cope with it in the same way. Burn out can happen to anyone, even in spite of the aspects of their job they enjoy. It can be a really serious thing with long term implications. I really wouldn't wish it on anyone. If the band said they were taking a year out to have a break I would think that was a good idea for them, based on a few things I have read, but really who knows what's going on apart from them? If any one of them needs a break I hope they take it. Carlac, you're making a lot of assumptions about what Jared is thinking, have you always been omniscient, or did the ability just come over you when you began making sweeping judgements about someone you don't know? On the plus side - bands do continue after marriage and children, and tour too

I think this whole thread is based on a bunch of assumptions and sweeping judgements (even if some of them come from a caring place)

Carlac, I'm not sure what you mean - you say I should re-read my post and you highlighted the bit I wrote about this band working harder than many other bands - I believe that's obviously true when it comes to touring - a lot of bands do not tour with the same kind of intensity as Kings of Leon have continuously over so many years. Also a lot of bands don't release 4 albums in such short order. Overall that's been good for fans. As to whether Jared has "let anyone down" by frowning/being sour faced is that really so? Really? I have not read such a thing so far - point me to evidence. Jared's death stare may be disconcerting, and cause for comment, but if anyone feels they have wasted their hard earned money going to a Kings of Leon gig solely because of of Jared's facial expression I would question why they went. Sugarhiccup is right - it should be about the music. Your sweeping assumption was that Jared didn't realise how lucky he was, didn't appreciate what he had and was just thinking about raking in the cash! You know this for a fact how? Charity work - no idea how much or little they do, but there's been some documented. I don't know what this has to do with frowning on stage. So, and this is total conjecture, but I'm following what you said, suppose Jared hates his job (Actually, he apparently said he hated touring - just one aspect) The money wold be one important reason for carrying on. I can imagine too that he might feel obligated not to let people down - His brothers and cousins, his family who are proud of him, the fans, and all the people who are directly employed by the band and whose livelihoods depend on them. Also - if this is all you've known continuously since you were 15 (7years) stopping could seem very daunting. Growing up in a band is a very weird thing to do - what do you do with yourself if you do stop, even temporarily? In such circumstances, a lot of people would find stopping difficult. Well thats one thing we agree on If the wind changes when he's got one of his frown's on he'll get stuck like it ( that must be what happened!) I have no idea what is going on with Jared - my money's on nothing much

wow, my laptop's been a bum for the last few days and i have missed out on heaps! something may be up with Jared now and it could be the whole touring thing or it could be something completely different. i agree totally with the fact that maybe we shouldn't be making assumptions.. i have seen many happy jared pictures if he truly is sad, i realllly reallly hope he feels better soon and he should know that we're all thinking of him

And at least she does care! (can whoever's smiting her just stop? - it's getting a bit mean) Please don't mind me to much, I'm stopping now Personally, I think Jared's grumpy face is kinda sexy! Oh and Elocin - thanks for the karma - have some back
