at least they could have got the paddle pop lion to sing (think only aussies and kiwis will get that) that guy was awful its a weird genre of music from those nickelback boys - faux-metal/pop Thank you, I haven't thought about the Paddlepop Lion in years, now I am laughing my ass off! Karma mate! |

well that back fired didn't it nickelback. just saw the video and if they were planning on some ho ho ho spiteful joke in response to caleb's remark, then they've just made the kings look like gods in comparison! oh dear. poor use somebody, i have a visual of it rocking backwards and forwards in the corner, wide eyed like a rabbit and shivering after the traumatic experience of being handled in the rough, callus covered hands of nickelback.

That was just awful.
plus i dont know why but i just find it abit rude that they performed a cover of a song that kings of leon are still promoting themselves. I mean i know the new single is revelry but for gods sake, at least wait a bit before you do (a really shit) cover of the song.

That's just wrong!  I couldn't watch more then a few seconds. I was afraid of get it stuck in my head!  So the Kings said they don't like Nickelback? Well, if that was an attempt of irony, it failed... to say the least. |

god!!! i cant believe they can get away with this! sometimes i am ashamed at what music is allowed to be made here
is there anything legal that can be done about this? or not because they aren't selling the single?

I don't care if I'm going to get a whole lot of smiting but the song Use Somebody (by itself) is just as "big rock MOR cheese fest" as some Nickleback songs have been and I can see why they covered it..... too bad Chad's voice is just horrible and nothing special like the primitive call that's the Leb man's voice in general. And you know there was a genuine feeling when the words came to him and behind the song without pretention, which is pretty RARE with such big songs these days.
An uneccessary butching on one hand but on the other, really, it showed America what a huge milestone they've reached when a really popular (for some unexplicable reason) band covers your songs.... lol, Nickleback WISH they wrote it ;p

I'm not even going to put myself through the pain of watching it. based on people's posts it's obviously awful.
It really surprises me when bands cover relatively new singles or songs from a band. I get covering The Clash or The Talking Heads, you know older songs that you don't hear live anymore, but covering Kings of Leon doesn't seem relevant when you can just go to a KOL show to hear the real thing. Cover them in five years maybe or at least cover something rare or off their first album. And please have at least an ounce of talent if you're going to attempt it.

I got 30 seconds in, and we he started to sing I actually got a fright. Bad stuff man.
Personally I think hardly any covers of KOL songs sound good, because Caleb's voice is so good.
