i just want them to know that just because the rest of the world are catchin on now doesnt mean they are better than what they used to be.. well in my eyes that is Exacly!I wanted to say this too,so karma.Hopefully they won't get the wrong perception of what's quality... I'd actually like it much more if they'd hang out with the Katy Perri crowd if they want,but get back to their old music style.  |

Yeah,but who knows. In the end,best would be for them to do whatever they want,play the music they like,hang out with whoever they feel nice with....I may wouldn't be their fan,but they'd be happy.And I'll have my ASH...it ain't going nowhere.  |

me too *high 5!*  Most of these new fans will lose interest soon enough. Watch and see Ooh here we go with the sweeping generalisations again...I'm one of these *ahem* 'new' fans, but as black jeans points out, went out and bought the entire back catalogue at the earliest opportunity. It's been said before and it'll be said again, makes no odds whether you got into them 5 years ago or last month, if you love a band and what they do, you love them, full stop. Don't mean to rant but it really pisses me off when fans claim they love a band more because they've loved them longer - it doesn't make a difference if you make the effort to get to know what you've already missed. And it pisses me off even more that I rise to this every frickin' time. I'll stop it now. |

after watching that carson video and they talked about how they have their foot in the door now, i have a feeling they will start going back to how they used to play. they admitted that obtn was mainstream and then said that their older stuff should have been nominated if sex on fire was; so it shows that they probably feel like since people know who they are now they can convince them to like their quality stuff too! or i can at least hope...

I am one of those 'new' fans as well. I only really go into the Kings back in September i think when the new album was released. I really, really liked the new album and so decided to check out their other stuff which i also really loved. OBTN is different from the rest of the albums, it is more mainstream but i don't think that it is any worse than all the other albums. It is different and that is what i like about it. I like to listen to a range of different music including some mainstream music, metal, indie, rock, pop. I like the variety and think that music is one of those things that is a matter or taste and no ones taste 'in my opinion is better than anyone else just different.' I think i a person wants to be a fan of SOF then fine. It is a good song and if it hadn't been so popular we might me screaming about what a masterpiece it is. Anyway that is just my opinion and i hope that i makes some sense. Any ways that is my rant over..... MAINSTREAM DOESN"T ALWAYS MEAN BAD |
