For some reason, in the last couple of weeks I've started to really look forward to the next album... more so than ever.
I think it might be that on OBTN there is not as many tracks that I personally love as much as say McFearless, Milk, Genius, True Love Way, Arizona, Spiral Staircase, etc.
I know that some people have slated OBTN but I think they are wrong. It is a good album, not one song on it is shit, it just doesn't seem to have as many gems on it (except Closer, Notion and Be Somebody - but these aren't as classic as The Bucket, etc)
What do you all think about the 5th album? I doubt they will start recording it until September at the earliest deeing as though they are on tour until the Summer.

Since i just became a fan 2 months ago,i'm REALLY excited to hear it cuz it'll be the first KOL album that i can enjoy at the same time as everyone else! Plus i'll have all this time to get excited about it,as opposed to getting into all their albums in a few days! I'm sure it'll be awesome. I think it'll sound a lot like OBTN since Matt said they finally found their sound. I am not thinking they'll go back to the old sound.

I'm so sad Well i just read it in that article that was in a German magazine and whoever posted it had to translate it for us...its in one of the other threads,i cant remember which one now! He was talking about how he discovered pedals and this other guitar he uses now and he's gonna let that be his sound LOL I suck at explaining it! |

If its anything like BOTT I'll be happy as I think that is their best album despite loving their style on each of the 4 albums as soon as they were released.
I think BOTT has the best blend of everything a good rock album needs whilst still remaining quite faithful to their original sound.
I think the first 2 albums are brilliant in parts but then there is the odd track that doesn't meet that standard (e.g: Dusty) whereas the worst on BOTT is still good.

matt actually said that and btw i was the one who translated the article into english  yeah he said that they kinda changed their sound to be more modern to keep up with other bands and to be as big as U2 or pearl jam one day, cause these are the bands they look up to. |

Matt only says that because he likes U2 and now he sounds like them, so he's reached that 'good' point for himself.
I couldn't be less excited.
I know hating on OBTN is a bit over-done, but hey, call me old fashioned.

I really hope they go back to there old sound. Youth and young manhooodd? Pleaaaaaaaase. Best album by far. With ahhhaaa shakkee a close second Hmm, wait can i actually chosee between them twoo? There both amazin. Im actually so excited for this album, i also hope matt was like drunk or something, although i love every single KINGS OF LEON song ever. Seriously i wud much rather it be like there early stuff, coz althoughhh OBTN was an amazing album, there first 2 and even BOTT were much more AMAZIN. If that is possible like. I generally go on stupid rants about things no bodys even intrested in but still  I hope its realllly old school |

hmm, what would be cool, well I think it would be xD, would be if they could like mix it up a bit, like some new sounding ones mixed in older sounding ones. Would keep all the fans happy right? I can't wait for the new album, I was reading Q and they mentioned it, which like made me jump up and down all excitedly. I love love love all their albums and even though they've changed I think they still have an incredibly unique and awesome sound, but I do gotta admit I miss the classics like McFearless cos that really gets the crowd going and the new album is quite slow in comparison to songs like Red Morning Light and Four Kicks.  |
