Oh, isn't John Mayer that talented guy who used to be almost famous before he met some girl-friend? Now he's all over the tabloids. Shame.

Yeah he use to actually be pretty famous for his music and songwriting skills and all but then he started dating Jennifer Aniston and hasn't made a record since and is now just a tabloid skank lol.

john mayer does some great charity work for the children's hospital in my area.. so he'll always have my respect.. i guess it's just easy to get all caught up in the hollywood glitz and drama.. but people are people and people make decisions that we wont always agree with i guess..we must all be thankful that KoL have handled fame in a way that makes us love them for what they do instead of the other way around

Hi everyone, this is my first post here. I am somewhat of a new US fan. Have heard of the band for years, knew so of their songs, but never put the two together until recently.
Anyway, I am surprised so many don't know John Mayer. I guess it is the reverse of KOL, very famous in the US, not overseas. He is a decent artist, but he is a prime example of what I wouldn't want the KOL to turn into. He is all about publicity and getting in the blogs and magazines, his music is totally overshadowed. Lots of people hate him now. I love the fact that KOL stayed in Nashville and don't crave that kind of attention. However, after recently reading the Spin Magazine article, it seems that's exactly what Caleb wants :-(

Hi and welcome nycfan! I agree with you on your points, however what Spin article are you referring to? I don't think I've read it...

Hi and welcome nycfan! I agree with you on your points, however what Spin article are you referring to? I don't think I've read it... Thanks so much! I read the Oct, 08. article. It kind of saddened me. I think they deserve more recognition here, especially seeing how famous less deserving artists have become. Radio is in a sad state, but so is network tv and film in the states. I think mass success will eventually come to KOL, if they remain patient and keep doing what they are doing. I just hope they don't take the John Mayer/Pete Wentz route and trade in cred to become tabloid fodder and a joke. They all seem content though, except for Caleb. Here's a link to the article: digital.spin.com/spin/200810/?pg=67

But I completely agree with you on how sad of a state our media is in the States.
