Hey guys,
I was just wondering whether anyone had seen an interview I hadn't and could answer a question for me..
I've always been so into lyrics and their meanings (my best subject is by far English), and so of course when I started listening to KOL that's what grabbed me (along with the kick ass music).
I was walking home today and started singing Black Thumbnail real loud. This happens to me quite often, it usually takes weird looks from neighbors to make me realize that i'm singing, apparently quite loud.
So anyways I was singing it and I love so many lines in that song, like "Don't take these boots off me when you think that I'm dead / I'll still be running from the demon in my head"
or
"From runways to the road I ramble alone / This thumbnail size of heart is black as coal / Your beauty it still brings me to my knees / Don't waste a tear on me it's my disease"
I mean, I know this is a broad question, and it applies to pretty much every KOL song not just this one, but how the hell does he come up with stuff like this?? I mean the imagery and everything, cos if I was trying to describe someone or something i would never think of something like:
"Don't waste a tear on me it's my disease" or
"People call us renegades / Cause we like living crazy / We like takin on the town / Cause people are getting lazy"
"Strain, living with name"
"Pushing and jumping / Jumping the mountain range / Burning up railroad / Railroad from Hell to Maine"
"Say why you never saw me no you never seen my calling right in front your face / I'll smoke you in the end and don’t you ever turn around cause it’s that coming of age"
Anyone who could please help!!
p.s. I realise I've quoted ALOT, but let's be honest, there's never a time when there's too much KOL
