i've never been a kid rock fan, but his latest stuff blows especially hard.

OH YES That's awesome. It might be unlikely, but there's always a chance they'll win!

are the grammy's a popularity contest or something because some people on there are shite especially kid rock.? If OBTN got nominated why didn't the last record or even the one before that?

I have a feeling that their nomination well make them do something completely different with their next album and like blackkeys said bring them back to the old days. I love the new album but Caleb always says how they want to do what people least expect of them and I doubt they'll just churn out more stuff like OBTN just because they got nominated for it. I'm so proud for them though.

MTV's Grammy predictions: www.mtv.com/news/articles/1600721/20081204/carey_mariah.jhtmlHaha, I liked this bit: Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group With Vocals: No offense to Coldplay, but compared to AC/DC and Kings of Leon, "Violet Hill" is about as rocking as a preschool play-date. Speaking of KOL, there's another song that will give Portnow a coronary if it wins, thanks to lyrics about, well, let's just say doing something to someone who's driving. My two cents: I used to watch the Grammys religiously when I was a teenager, back when I still thought they mattered. The Grammys are just a way for music execs to publicly wipe each other's ass, er.. to congratulate each other. They usually only consider mainstream acts that they themselves shove down people's throats through radio (reason why I haven't listened to radio since the rise of the teen pop tarts in early 00s). That said, I guess I see why artists (including Kings of Leon), whether in it for the love of music, or fame, would want that recognition, in the KIngs' case, meaning their country finally claims/acknowledges them. The award itself is still a pretty big deal, it's the voters who are utter shit.

i hate the fact they nominate some people like for all 100 categories and let them win 1 or lose all i couldn't care less if they won they rule the most in my book and they are respected by so many music people they don't need it if they win great if they don't win even greater....i love them and they rule i know it you know it we all fucking know it

Some what, it's a matter mostly of how much buzz you got through the year and how well the record sold. I'm happy that the boys got nominated but I'm quite upset that it had to be for OBTN.

Part of me loves that they're finally being recognized in the U.S. & part of me wishes they wouldn't get big here at all. I want to continue seeing them in cool little venues...I don't want to start seeing them in big arenas... ah well. Completely out of my hands
