Nathan in a shirt like that? Oh, I might not be able to contain myself. I think most musicians (not all of course) want to win a Grammy, or at least aspire to. It's like the Oscars, Tonys or Emmys. They are like the most prestigious awards in those fields. I mean, I'd rather get a Grammy than a VMA... Haha same here! And yes, that is totally right.

I mean, I'd rather get a Grammy than a VMA... they are said to be prestigious but when I look at most of the previous winners maybe they used to be, but not anymore, its not as if the best album/artist etc is going to win nowadays... but yea, always better than the VMA's! edit: I would call the Mercury prize prestigious, but is that one only for British albums???

They're suppose to be, but the Academy gets it wrong on so many occasions. To me, it's still an honor to be nominated for and win a Grammy, even if the board is made up of old farts... I never heard of the Mercury Prize...

as I said, its always nice to be nominated, especially when it involves a jury, or however the grammy's work...

Last year Amy Winehouse won a bunch, and she totally deserved them (in my opinion). But just a few years ago Carrie Underwood won best new artist instead of Imogen Heap! So sometimes they get it right and sometimes they get it very very wrong.

Well, Imogen Heap wasn't really a New Artist. She was with the Frou Frou's, so I don't think that really counts...
Winning Best New Artist use to be a curse.

Agh dammit just freaking be happy for our boys (I know this has been said but I need to reiterate). It's about them as a band achieving something great!
So Caleb read my message but he didn't say anything back. I wasn't expecting him to though, I'm just glad he knows that we're happy for them!

geez... i just read about the nominations... and i am very excited for them, though i looked through the categories and have to admit that there is strong competition with radiohead and the raconteurs. i love all three bands... so each could get a grammy. but being nominated is great... some nice music is mentioned by the academy. but i am afraid that in the end the band/ musician will win, whom i didn't expect at all.

Congratulations to the Followill boys and their families for this great accomplishment!
It ultimately doesn't matter what we think or believe.
I know the boys are not sitting in the UK somewhere pissed off that they got 3 Grammy nominations. They're happy and proud and they should be! They've worked hard, they deserve recognition of all sorts. They've already had fan recognition all over the world. Now it's time for industry recognition and I couldn't be happier for them!!!
P.S. I hope they win one!!

oh gosh i second that... WHAT would he say? i wonder who'd do all the talking... probably caleb... but i'd say let nathan do the talking. or better yet if matt just grabbed the award and started giving a huge acceptance speech. maybe this is what it will take to make him talk
