All three shows I've had the opportunity - been within 5 feet of them afterwards but I'm too star-struck and shy. CRAP!! I think i'm afraid my tongue would swell and wouldn't work and they'd be like 'what a goof'. I walked up to John Paul Jones of Led Zep at an Elastica show one time and introduced myself and that's it. Couldn't thing of sh*t to talk about and walked off. And I'm a huge Zep fan and have been for 20 years. oh well. Glad to know im not the only Zep fan around here, I love them! I've only seen Robert Plant once, and it wasn't too bad..... |

ya i got to meet them aswell at an after party, first time i saw them aswell, however there were a couple of other girls there that were like leaches!
seeing them again so lets hope i can get to an after party again.

I don't think I really want to meet the bands I'm a fan of. I have no idea what I could possibly tell them, and I'll probably make a fool of myself if do, as usual. It's better to dream  . I do know an actual artist/singer who is quite famous in Belgium and the Netherlands. Well, known to older people I suppose, 'cause he doesn't exactly write popular music for teenagers and young people, but his music is really deep and unpretentious. And via him I also got to meet other famous people. But that's different, 'cause you kinda already 'know' these people and you don't really talk to them 'cause you're a fan or whatever, but just, as 'friends'. |

OH poor Trash how could they!! they could've at least taken a picture with you guys however coz i am a Libra I'm balanced so you could also say that they were tired and probably wanted some time alone.......at least there was also Nacho i swear if it were me i would run in a DEMAND a flippin' picture at least and i wouldn't leave unless security had to drag me out  but if i did meet KOL and they were in a good mood id possibly start a conversation with 'em but i wouldn't be too pushy coz they'd get freaked out |

ive really enjoyed reading this thread...so funny..and sad at the same time!!
i dont EVER see myself getting to shy to jump on the boys.. i say that now but who knows?? i would definately freak em out tho!!
i REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY want to meet the band, including nacho... just one photo with only one of the followill boys will make me forever happy. no shit. wow im sad lol
point is, i think i would do almost anything to meet em! i think getting to nacho first is the wisest option.. he seems very nice.. and plus, not many people would know the names of the followill boys.. coz i live in syndey and altho there are TWO sydney shows, their fan base isnt thattt big... but yea, i dont think there will be too many obsessed fans..
i have to meet someone from the band.. or else i will die... dammit. but howwww??!!

No, it's someone from your country actually. The lovely Stef Bos! He lived in Antwerp for a very long time.  He always gives us free tickets to see his shows and stuff. He's really nice and funny. My mom used to clean his appartment, and they became friends. Sometimes, when we were younger, he invited us over and we had to listen to his new stuff, and then we had to give our opinion about it. Don't think he ever chucked a single, 'cause I said it stinks, though. |

(my boyfriend's giving me the evil eye...) seriously though, there is no pretension with nacho, he doesn't have an arrogant bone in his body. and i thought i would totally freak out when i would finally meet them, but i totally didn't. i actually introduced myself to caleb and said, "have a great show." afterwards, i realized how calm i was and i felt very proud of myself because i managed not to scare them shitless. anyways, i could talk about that night forever. just be determined, it'll happen. esp. with KOL cause they've remained pretty down-to-earth and humble (in my opinion) :] |

I went through a crazy-obsessed-hyperactive-fan stage when I was younger, and I think I've come out of it as a pretty level-headed gal. I understand that the musicians I admire might not be the nicest, most patient or most sober people, and they might bite my head off (thankfully, it's yet to happen). And I get that it might affect the musical experience.
BUT, I still love to meet the people behind the music I love, because (not to sound sappy) I figure there's a reason that I connect to the music they make, and every experience I've had to date has been positive - in a few cases, ending with me hanging out with my favourite bands over a few beers. I'd rather risk a bad impression to have a great experience, than not meet them at all.
And so I'll be there with you, groupielove - waiting for hours, pleading, bribing and possibly turning on the waterworks for the chance to meet the lads. Screw the naysayers.
