I guess I stick my story and pictures in here?  I may start to ramble, I've tried telling 'regular' people but they just smile and say 'oh, that's nice' so I figure everyone on here will understand my ramblings a bit more... Tuesday night after the Notts show I waited to meet the band. It was absolutely freezing but I had faith because I'd met them at the same venue the year before so I will willing to wait my time in the cold in case I struck lucky again. By the time I got to the back of the arena it was about 11.30 and there was about 30 people there. It was a nice atmosphere, no one was overly annoying or screaming or anything. The security guard that was manning the gates said 'oh they'll definitely be out before 2am' Anyway about 12.40am the tour bus door opens and they all stroll out of the venue straight to the bus, so everyone starts shouting over to them asking them to come over, they all look at each other and their g/f's push them over in our direction, I think they could tell how freezing cold we were. So Nathan is the first one through the gate, he signs my OBTN booklet and I ask for a picture, 'sure' he says so a quick pic is taken, I say my thanks and move out of the way for everyone else. Jared quicky follows him, this was fun  The boy was drunk! He had a pen in one hand and a beer in the other hand, so when I asked him to sign my booklet he had major problems, first he tried to hold the beer and the booklet in the same hand and the pen in the other but it wasn't working and he was mumbling 'oh shit' over and over, but he eventually worked something out and signed it. As he was signing the booklet he said 'so is it gonna snow then?' and everyone yelled 'yeahh' so he looked up all excited and yelled 'awwwwwwwwesome' with the biggest smile on his face! So then I asked him for a picture. 'A picture of what?' he asks 'ummm you!' so he looks up to everyone in front of him and says 'no pap shots, you ask me first' in a really serious voice but with a really silly smile on his face. I got my pic and then moved away again. Caleb walks out of the gate, throws his hands in the air and yells '2nd shift is here' to which everyone cheers. I still have my booklet in my hand and ask him to sign it, but I can't seem to open it and am struggling (and having a silent panic attack at the thought of looking like a total idiot) so I eventually open it and look up at him and he has the most gorgeous smile on his face, I melt and hand him the booklet and he signs and hands it back to me. I ask for a picture and he grabbed my shoulder and the picture was taken. Matt is trapped behind Caleb, trying to get out of the gate so when Caleb moves to some other people Matt gets out and I have no trouble opening the booket this time (success! ) and I ask him for a picture, 'suuuuuuuuuuure' he says and we take the picture. I thanked him and he was like 'thank you' And then I just stood and watched them chat with everyone else and take pictures. It was such a relaxed atmosphere, not frenzied or rushed. They took their time and made sure everyone got pictures and everything. There was a group of guys, one of them lost his trousers during Sex on Fire and just had something tied around his waist to cover his ummm modesty and he was telling Caleb about it and Caleb said 'don't getcha thing out' and looked quite alarmed. The guys asked Jared to take the picture so he took the camera and said 'I'm gonna count to 3 and then take it' so he gets to one and presses the button by accident and takes the picture. He bursts into laughter as does everyone else. After that they got on their bus and off they went into the night. It was a lovely ten minutes, definitely worth the 90 minutes wait in sub zero temps! The pic of Matt is adorable plus I am loving Caleb's grey hat! It's obviously keeping him warm throughout the tour because he had it on last night too.

I just want to thank you all for being so sweet, I've met some other bands in the past and posted on their forums and got a horrible reaction from other fans, you guys are too cool!

I really want to meet them so bad after Bournemouth! I think the tourbus is in a silly place though, and the longest I can wait is an hour and a half  |

^^ we waited over 2 hours last nite its such a shame that railing was in the way of the pics etc, but in fairness it was raining so we were lucky they came over at all. Acutally Nate came straight over and was like "the rest of the guys will be out too" and they all came straight over without hesitation!!! rebeldiamond lovely story, you captured Jared to a T That pic with Matt is fab!! I'm jealous  |

Mm, see at Brighton they come out after about an hour, so I guess it just depends. I know there's an after party for Bournemouth, so I dunno |

I really want to meet them so bad after Bournemouth! I think the tourbus is in a silly place though, and the longest I can wait is an hour and a half I saw them at the BIC in July 2007 and waited afterwards to meet them. It's a silly venue because the tour buses park under the venue and you can't get to them but in July 2007 they didn't leave on the buses they went in cars to an aftershow party so it's hard to tell if it'll be easy to meet them. Yeah that's what my friend said. Someone told me you can look below and see them, apparently it's about 150 feet away? Typical the only gig I can wait for them it's virtually impossible!

Come on lottery ticket, let me win this grand prize! If it's a few million, I'll take you guys along to see them in the US. Although venues are getting bigger there as well, so maybe not so easy to access them after gigs. Never mind, come on ticket!!!

Waiting two hours in the freezing cold and rain was totally worth it. it would have been amazing if the huge fence wasn't there, but I couldn't care less. If you can meet them, do try cause they were all really lovely. Good luck to people going to the show tonight! |

you met them also?? Ya, last nite but with the big fence it wasnt ideal, nonetheless, I posted about it in the Glasgow thread in tour section Waiting two hours in the freezing cold and rain was totally worth it. it would have been amazing if the huge fence wasn't there, but I couldn't care less. If you can meet them, do try cause they were all really lovely. Good luck to people going to the show tonight! TOTALLY But I really really really wanted one pic with Matt.......so thats still on the "must do before 2009" list |
