Who mentioned being a jackass? Since when does dancing, jumping around, singing, cheering or chanting at a gig mean you're acting stupid? People don't do it just cos it's concert protocol - if they're moved to do it by the music and the party atmosphere, then cool. If they're not, equally cool. It's up to personal taste, and what you're used to. I did. But no, I was just replying to someone basically saying that Americans aren't as "into" it when it comes to concerts, which I know couldn't be further from the truth. People need to know that just cuz you're not moving around and all that, doesn't mean you're not having a good time. That was my point, or at least, that was what I was tryin' to get at.

I'll just say this: Not all American concert go'ers refrain from showing emotion or act wild. I don't think acting like a jackass warrants anything special, personally. Some of us can enjoy the music without acting stupid. I refuse to jump up and down like a fool just because that's "concert protocol". I can enjoy any band without the unnecessary motions. Well said I know when I go to concerts I don't jump or dance but still have the same amount of fun as people who do. To me personally, I would rather just listen to my favourite songs live and watch them rocking onstage.

Oh, I didn't mean it like there was anything wrong with not going crazy at concerts (I often just like to relax and watch the show myself) - and I sure didn't mean it as any offence. So if I did cause any offence - I'm very sorry. And of course - American crowds can go just as wild too sometimes. I was saying it in general...
