Hey I thought it would be cool to have a thread for us to post where the after parties are gonna be held for the UK & Ireland Tour this December.
I also have a big question, do the Kings and bands in general go to their after parties?
I'm so interested cos I just found out I might be getting VIP passes for the Kanye West after party in Glasgow in 2 weeks and I really wanna know if its likely that he'll be there...like is it customary?
And with that in mind, I'll be eager to find out where the Kings are having their after party so that I can hunt for VIP passes for that lol!

All the after parties I've known about, none of the bands have gone to apart from Dirty Pretty Things. I'm not sure though!

I was under the impression that KOL did go to their after parties, definitely in the older days, nowadays though?? I'm not so sure.

Last year in Dublin Jared did a DJ set after the gig both in November and after Oxegen. Tickets were on sale for it and the rest of the band were there.

Yeah they turned up for the Dublin after party. I was at the MGMT after party on Monday and they turned up but were in a secluded part of the bar which had security so you couldnt even get a look. I assumed they would be doing a dj set. Stupid €12 for nothing

^^ Yeah, these ticketed aftershow parties are just money-making exercises, they're not aftershows in the traditional sense...if there is a traditional sense! Jared dj-ed the night of the November gig in Dublin last year and that was ticketed, but in July his DJ set was the night before Oxegen - not an aftershow - and that was free. Both were Corona promotions. Whether or not a band goes to their aftershows really depends on the size of the band. It's only bigger bands who have big parties organised for them that they might not even turn up to. Otherwise an aftershow party is just wherever the band are at!

I don't think there will be official after parties this time round. If so, they'd better be selling their tickets within the next four weeks. The majority of ones in Ireland so far are all ticketed DJ sets. Tivoli.ie is good venue to keep checking, its where they are most likely to host another if at all this year.

Any indication of an aftershow party in Birmingham with even the slightest possibility of the Followills being there, and I'm so there.

The kings go to their after parties but I can imagine Kanye West wouldnt turn up to one or if he did he would fuck off into a secluded area surrounded by 5 body guards

in the olden days when they had afterparties the boys went to them thats were my sister got to meet them and do some crazy dancing with caleb, and when i met them it wasnt really an after party it was more of a small private party/gathering that was in their hotel bar/restuarant which had just them and the body gaurd how is very intimadating and the band that opened for them and their manager, it was really good so appy i got to go!! but last time i saw them my sister and i tried to find out where the after party was and found out that there wasn't one cus they had all their GF's with them so weren't having one sucks but ohwell.

I actually thought they were pretty good. Granted I had been drinking alot that day. I just think that the venue sucks and therefore makes the band look bad. The Academy is the way forward. Great venue.

I saw them last night at the Barrowlands, Kids was brilliant, the whole place was jumping, they were pretty good better than T in the Park they were bloody awful that day. Ive been to a couple of aftershow parties but they were free mainly for smaller bands, ive went to one with the Cribs (Ryan Jarman was wasted! v.funny) and the futureheads but i think with the bigger bands its all about moneymaking methinks and they very rarely turn up and if they do its for like 5 minutes!

Don't know if it's been mentioned elsewhere already, but seetickets is selling tickets for a Bournemouth afterparty.
The legend that is Peter Hook is DJ'ing at Club2020 apparently.
