For the record, unless I can use a computer at my Mom's job, I will not be on all day (Monday), but the minute I get home, I will do some reporting, uploading of any pictures and the like.

I will be there. Black Aha Shake flower T-shirt over a white long sleeve shirt. Trying to split time between an x and an old friend. Fun night for me. Someone come save me.

Hey Caleb, Jared, Nathan and Matthew;
If you guys are on here, and read this, could you please PLEASE please play Day old Blues? And Woo Hoo. I would be forever grateful! Woo Hoo...
And don't be afraid to just go completely crazy up there, I don't mind at all.

OMG...the show was amazing! To any of you doubters...Monday's show kicked ass all over. Caleb looked amazing. Jared was really spazzing it up. Matthew was blocking Nathan on purpose (but was killing all his solos), and Nathan was really pounding hard away. Nacho looks so hot in person, I kid you not people, though he's really short. Both the Whigs and We Are Scientists were amazing and brought the house down, but the Kings really were on fire. If memory serves, they played (I can't remember the order): Closer Crawl Sex on Fire Use Somebody Revelry Taper Jean Girl King of the Rodeo Molly's Chambers The Bucket Milk Fans Razz (super cute Jared spotlight) On Call My Party Cold Desert Slow Night, Slow Long (the closer..how could I forget) Encore (I think)Knocked Up Black Thumbnail Manhattan (Personal fave) McFearless Charmer As this being my first Kings show, I was more than impressed. Whatever happened in Detroit, they didn't bring to DC. They all were into it, and looked and sounded like they wanted to be there. The crowd was really into it too, and I could sense a lot of people weren't just there for Sex on Fire, which was good. During Knocked Up, we helped Caleb sing along. He said Milk wasn't written for George Bush and talked about "going to the White House and having a good feeling". Then he said we sounded better than they did, which wasn't true, but he was smiling and happy, and that was what really mattered. I was like, "Caleb loves me!" after he said that. Amazing lights, especially on songs that required a lot of Nathan drumming. Jared was really amazing and Matt's solos were awesome, really. It was so loud that I felt like Nathan was pounding his way into my heart, literally. (Okay, maybe I've been waiting a minute just to say that... ) The opening acts of The Whigs and We Are Scientists really were very good. If I had time, I would have gotten their CD (the Whigs) right there probably. I was impressed. I took a bunch of pics that I will show off, but remember, I'm short, tall people were in front of me, and Matt was trying his best to aggravate me by blocking Nathan at all costs. I don't know if this is a review like what you guys are accustomed too, but I've been up since 5 in the morning with little sleep just so I could see them. All of this was worth it. They sounded amazing. I could hear them loud enough, though Caleb seemed to have a diva moment with the sound guy or something. It was nice seeing them all smiling and laughing on stage. I totally thought Jared saw me. He kept looking over in my direction. Seriously. I think he saw me, somehow. At one point when I could get a clear image of Nathan, he was ducking down under the drum for a min and I kinda think we connected. I had the best view of Caleb. Like, he was right there. I BREATHED THE SAME AIR AS KINGS OF LEON!! I nearly freaked when I saw Nacho. If I wasn't too stunned, I would have gotten his autograph. He was basically right there. All I had to do was get off my ass... So to me, this was the best most greatest thing that's ever happened to me. WhyHello's the only one I saw there and we did get to chat for a min. That was mighty fun. I hope this kinda gives you guys a glimpse into what me and the DC folks got to listen to. I converted my Dad. He somehow managed to get in towards the end of the show and heard a song and liked it. Go figure.

Yea, We got one hell of a show. Its the best show I've ever seen, not only of KOL, but in my life. I thought it was gonna be hard to beat Foo Fighters, but I think Four Kicks beat it alone.
I put the setlist on my phone, but its a little different from yours JigglyTuffy.
Closer Crawl My Party Razz Molly's Chambers Taper Jean Girl King of The Rodeo Sex On Fire Fans Revelry Milk Four Kicks The Bucket McFearless Use Somebody On Call Cold Desert Slow Night, So Long
Encore: Knocked Up Manhattan Charmer Black Thumbnail
Here comes Philly. I don't have concert tickets yet, but I already bought the train tickets. haha

Holy crap...they did play Four Kicks. My bad!!!! I couldn't remember them in the exact order. It was such a haze and I had an awesome time. My Pops loves Knocked Up now. (He got in free half-through trying to find me. ) I have like 50+ pics, but trying to sift through the good and the bad is crazy. I might just upload them all, but be warned, they suck.

the whigs were good weren't they! I got a setlist which was handed to me by tim the bass player I believe and I talked to Parker shortly. I hope they get big and start headlining. I already bought there cds. I think a lot of it was that I saw them 4 times now and it can get a little old. I brought my girlfriend who doesn't like when things get hetic like they do in the front row and my worry probably caused me to not have such a good time in detroit. I'm glad it was a good show. Your right there was people even in detroit who weren't there for sex on fire only but i just remember the roar from the crowd being so so so much louder when he started the song and I was like "god".

Nope, no Arizona, and I haven't seen it on any of the other setlists for this tour. You may have to settle for Closer or something instead. Hopefully you get lucky and they play Frontier City.
Good luck in Berlin.

It's always interesting to see other people's reviews of a show and how different they can be. My boyfriend and I have seen KOL 5 times now (last time at APW), and Mon night was by far the worst KOL gig we've been to. One problem was the venue itself. The seats were bolted to the floor, with no pit. So dancing and jumping around was pretty difficult (still have bruises on the backs of my legs ) and crowd surfing impossible. There were also loads of empty seats, even on the floor. And the crowd was not into it all for The Whigs and WAS, unless you consider sitting in your seat whilst listening and then politely applauding after a song ends as proper gig behaviour. We were shocked, and so embarrassed for both bands who played their asses off. Even apologised to Keith from WAS later that night for the piss poor DC crowd that showed up. Luckily, everyone stood up when KOL came out and seemed a lot more into it. But the band just seemed tired. It's not like they weren't trying to put on a good show. But they weren't nearly as tight as every other time we've seen them. At one point Caleb even apologised, saying we were a great crowd but the band didn't deserve it because they weren't playing well. I'd agree. Especially during the main set it felt like the crowd was pushing the band rather than the other way around,. They just didn't have the energy we've seen in the past and come to expect from a KOL gig. Still, there were some highlights. Cold Desert sounded epic, the best song of the main set imo, and most of the encore was great. Either right before or after Charmer, some guy shouted out "Trani" and my heart stopped for second thinking they might play it. But they played Black Thumbnail instead, which again imo isn't the best closer. It's a slower song (or at least it was the way they played it Mon night) and seems a bit of a let down after the high energy of Charmer. We hung around the tour buses afterwards hoping to get our OBTN cd signed. Sure enough, about 30 mins after the gig ended Caleb came out. Despite the fact it was friggin' cold, he made a point of making sure everyone got their stuff signed and/or got a photo. I was so impressed , the man's a class act all the way. About 10 mins later, Nathan came staggering out, stinking drunk with no coat on. Hilarious! There was one guy with a whole stack of stuff -- cds, vinly, posters -- he wanted signed. Nathan's reaction was 'WTF, you expect me to sign all that?' Then he said something like 'this better not end up on ebay". Sooo funny. We waited another 30 mins, but no sign of Matt and Jared. We did get to congratulate The Whigs on doing a great show (they were awesome!) and chatted briefly with Keith from WAS. Would have stayed a bit longer, but I had a flight to London the next day and really needed some sleep. Maybe we've been spoiled. But their gigs at the 9:30 club were soo good and Mon night's show just didn't compare. If their increased popularity means playing larger venues, I'm all for it. Just hope it's some place besides Constitution Hall the next time they come through DC.

nice meeting you monday jiggly. it will take a few days for me to upload my pics
well nothing compares to the 930 club esp when the kings and brmc are on the same bill but i'll take what i can get. that said, i had a great time monday night and thought the kings were good. caleb seems to always think they suck for some reason. the seats at dar didnt bother me when i was standing and i hate crowd surfing - i usually let them fall. if its a seated show, i dont stand up for the opening band--even at 930 club, unless i'm forced to b/c someones trying to take my spot on the balcany. i didnt know anything about either band before then and while they did perform their butts off, i didnt feel like standing and make no apologies for it. i wasnt in the mood to sit thru two bands before kol. i honestly dont understand why they need two opening bands.
i was on the floor close to the stage and everyone around me was dancing and singing along. i did notice there were people upstairs that remained seated while the kings played. i've seen them a few times and think this was one of the best i've seen them. i'd like them to play a longer set and get rid on one of the opening bands.
now when will we have another kol and brmc show?

Same to you Christy. I hope your pics are better than mine. It was my first Kings show, and they didn't disappoint. I didn't stand because I didn't pay to see The Whigs or We Are Scientists. That's not to say that both bands sucked because they didn't. I paid to see Kings of Leon, and that was the band I stood up for. Take it as you want. I hope when they play MSG, it's just them, and they can play as long as they want to and play as many songs as possible. ALL I WANT TO HEAR IS RAGOO AND ARIZONA. That's it. Christy, I wish I had the seats you had. I actually liked Constitution Hall. The guards and ushers took no shit from anyone trying to cheat their way closer. It was like, "deal with the fact that you got shitty seats and let the people who actually got good ones enjoy it". Made me laugh everytime they pulled someone away and made them sit in their assigned seat. And trust me, there were many. I had an f'in good time. The boys played extremely well and that's that to me. I've never saw the appeal of crowd surfing or moshing, or any of that other crap. I wouldn't want random people touching me in various places, and there's no guarantee anyone's gonna catch ya. Take that to some other show. I don't really think it's needed at a Kings show.
