there is a quote similar to the one about caleb and success somewhere on this forum, i remember reading it a week or so ago, but i think it was more subtly put, something along the lines that he didn't mind that the album wasn't as well received (probably in response to the rolling stones review which gave it a pretty poor review) because it was achieving more commercial success than the other 3.
