Some kid at school the other day was going about saying the world was gonna end in 2012. Me being a gerk goes up to him a goes "did you hear this from Jared Followill??" Ahaha Funny thing is, that's not even what the Mayan calendar is saying! It's saying that it will be the end of a cycle, not the end of the physical world. A new time in the universe will start. Buttttttt... even so I still think it's all a bunch of superstitions. I mean, how many times have people thought the world was gonna end? I couldn't graduate on 6/6/06... the school had to change the date. And if the world didn't end in the year 666, it ain't gonna end in 2012. Anyways, what I thought was disturbing about the wiki article is the idea that KOL were stupid enough to end their band over THAT. Jared may believe it, but no way he could drag down the rest of the members with that baloney. (And I'm pretty sure that Jared doesn't SERIOUSLY believe it either) |

I'm more annoyed at Jared, just stick to what you do best, playing music... A bit of a contradiction don't you think so yourself mate? I detest when people say these kinds of things. So somebody that makes music isn't allowed to have an opinion about anything or speak that opinion? Why don't you go and stick to what you know best because it most certainly is not rational thinking. So you honestly believe that KOL is the most retarded band to roam this world? And about the 'ending of the world theory'. It's part of a 'religion' and in a free world, you'll have to deal with that. Period. |

Yeah it's a contradiction in a way, but it's also balance. Simply giving my opinion then taking in other opinions aswell.
I'm pretty sure the fact that I said "i do think everyone is allowed to say what they want" shows that i'm quite capable 'to deal with that' period.
everyone is allowed their opinion but I think most of us can realise this end of the world in 2012 is just the biggest load of rubbish..

Sorry if your getting the impression that i was trying to say they're retarded, I wasn't. Just would be a shame for one of the greatest bands to pack up and leave just because of some ridiculous theory.
and as most people have been saying, it's probably not going to be true information anyway, just someone having a bit of a laugh.

I like to hold all judgments about the reality of 2012 until a little less than 4 years from now. If it happens it happens, if it doesnt well that sucks. Personally i think the world could use some type of drastic change. I'm all for the apocalypse, i think that would be bad ass. But thats really not likely and would either involve horses, the hand of satan or some type of large rip in space time. Most people who really know the subject say its going to be a world wide shift in consciousness. But i think its going to be aliens. Yes aliens do exist and they're going to take over the world. I know i'm probably ruffling a lot of feathers by going on about this. Or not, maybe nobody gives a shit.
Either way, jared just got a point in my book for being a believer.
