To be fair, I've heard a hell of a lot worse KOL covers than this. Put her lyrical stumbles aside for a minute, and her vocals are pretty good.
Most of the ire comes down to the arrangement, I think. It's a little more offensive than it could be because they haven't done anything to set their arrangement apart from KOL's. Almost carbon copyish. Couple that with the high expectations of Kings of Leon fans, and it's a recipe for disaster. Had they slowed it down, changed the key etc., I'm sure people wouldn't be as offended!
Conclusion: good for a quick listen, then straight to bargain bin. If it were on sale... ¬_¬

God that was painfull, ive had toothache less painfull than that! Dont get me wrong i dont mind the girl i think she has got a good voice but dont try and cover a song that is clearly too much for her. the guitar playing was chronic. I just think KOL songs are very hard to cover and get right, if your gonna do them its best to completely change the arrangement and make it your own. Razorlight's cover of Milk is bordering on torture, Johnny Borrell thinks he's amazing, he will never be good enough to get a KOL song right, i laugh at the fact he told them if he could cover Milk he would allow KOL to cover any one of Razorlights songs, now just my opinion but i dont think thats a fair trade?? LOl  |

Unfortunately not, i think it may be on youtube or possibly on a razorlight forum  , i heard it ages ago and thought god how dare he cover that song! it was pretty lame just Borrell being his usual egotistical self! |

Unfortunately not, i think it may be on youtube or possibly on a razorlight forum , i heard it ages ago and thought god how dare he cover that song! it was pretty lame just Borrell being his usual egotistical self! hahaa! i still haven't searched for it. i told my friend that razorlight had done a cover of milk, & she was like, 'you gotta search it on youtube!' (not quite sure why i had to search it, come to think of it, but ah well Lol) so i log into youtube, & KOL have uploaded sex on fire video, so watched that for about an hour (only joking!) so i kinda forgot to look for milk. i also have a little confession. from about the age of 11 to 13 i had a huge crush on johnny borrell. i know, i know, disgraceful.  x |

Ack. I didn't like it at all.
If she was going to change up the vocals, at least change them to be super amazing high runs. I didn't see her do anything above average in there.
Her voice sounds typical as well.

Oh gosh...i think Gab has a great voice doin' her own stuff (espesh being only 16) BUT kiddies please don't try cover songs that are already perfection, your just going to make a fool of yourself! Go for the ones that are crap to begin with and then you have something to work with and improve on!!
