when i listen to "use somebody" i hear a very strong resemblance to Coldplay.
i love the tease we hear in the trailer but i just cant help but hear coldplay.. i think that is a good thing seeing as coldpaly is often referred to as the greatest band in this time.

Just my opinion but I don't hear Coldplay whatsoever.
Has too much of an American feel to sound like Coldplay I think.
Also I think if you don't its KOL, I'd reserve judgement until you hear the full album.
Personally I don't really understand how anyone could feel like it isn't KOL as Caleb's voice is so distinctive that I think I will always connect with their songs as I have done in the past.

The backup vocals sound like coldplay, but I don't think the song itself sounds like coldplay. It sounds a little more "pop"/soft which kind of sucks, but I find myself listening to this verse over and over. What a tease.
They're definitely not the same garage punk southern rock band anymore though.
It brings me both smiles and frowns.

The chanting in it by Matt is very much like the chanting in Viva la Vida, and the general melody is also a bit like you might expect from Coldplay.
In a stark contrast to Crawl and to an extent Manhattan, I love this song.
