Hello there,
The more I hear, from these "sure to be fabled Only By The Night" Sessions, even in home movie, the more I think this could be the album that define the Kings Of Leon. From the politirock musing of "Crawl" to the Shits and partylike giggles Of "Manhattan", I think this will will all look back on fondly and think, "This is the best Kings Of Leon album since Youth & Young Manhood". Reason I ponder all of this is because many fans thought that transitioning their sound, undercutting their original "4-5 minute story songs" down to tight 3-4 minute pop hits, would deminish their creditability and tarnish any signs of them retaining their southern rock roots. Whatever other new song that was blurbing along in that trailer (God, is that yodeling/chorus Followill warbling in the background KILLER or what! ) has made me reconsider that original idea, they have changed, and change is good. And for the Followills, this change will make them legendary. Cheerios!

Oh God, that video made me so happy! Matt singing! Caleb's dressing gown/moustache! Some weird woman warbling! Jared dancing! Nathan swearing at his car! I hate to say this though, the start of the song sounds Coldplay-ish...

i dont talk on here much but i think that lady on the piano in the video could be their mom? she looks pentecostal (I was raised in the same religion) and it seems like shes singing an old church hymn, but my two cents on the song featured in the video was that the intro blew ass but eventually i liked where it was going with the loud drums and background singing. however crawl and manhattan are good so hopefully the rest of the album follows in that suit.

so i watched this video over and over
and i had a shitty-ass day at work. so i'm all sensitive and stuff. but i'm just gonna go with it:
i freaking love the song, the video EVERYTHING!
these are the Kings we were dying to see! Them being silly, Southern boys who also put their hearts and souls into the music they play. I hope they come out with many more home videos like this. I'm gonna be so proud of them for actually putting themselves out there and sharing more of their personal lives with us- we don't bite!
As for the song, I have to admit that I was totally expecting a big, cheesy love song like this. The four guys are totally in love right now, they have to dedicate some love to those girls for putting up with them! haha!
As a person who has been in love for the past 5 years, I love what I've heard of this song- I can't wait to hear the rest...I can't wait for it all!!! Only 10 more days until I see those Followills live !!!!!
