Haha, I was reading the papers' reviews on the Kings' gig in Belgium yesterday and this is what one of them wrote: There is hardly any band who is more American than Kings of Leon. They love Southern Rock and they have a sound which reminds you of the Black Crowes and The Eagles. The three brothers Followill (and their cousin Matthew on drums (??wtf??) already convinced 30 million fans who buy their records. After their second time at Werchter they gained a whole lot more in Belgium. At the Main Stage this Saturday we mainly heard all the girls' hearts beating faster.
Yet Kings of Leon started slow and by experience with their concert. You couldn't say that Crawl and Black Thumbnail were that exciting. We could tell that their religious childhood in Tennessee had left a mark on them when we saw the huge cross that was hanging on singer Caleb Followill's neck. Maybe he was thinking a bit too intense about the suffering of Christ. Or about the smile of Liv Tyler. The singer's new girlfriend came after half an hour to the festival meadow to the P.A. to check what her hubby was making of it.
That was reason enough for Caleb to start swinging his hips and to start singing with his sandpaper voice. Four Kicks sounded like a shot right into your veins and also Molly's Chambers was what junkies needed. During On Call (which everyone sang along to) it started to rain like crazy, but that couldn't spoil the magic. Knocked up with a fragile guitar à la U2 and pounding drums is rock like it should be. Kings of Leon proved themselves one last time with Slow night, so long. With many thanks to Liv Tyler.Journalists can be so ignorant sometimes. There was a nice photo with the article though: Maybe the journalist got confused because of this interview (also at Rock Werchter): www.stubru.be/node/62044 (The video doesn't open for me, but maybe anyone else is able to watch it?)

OMG Did this journalist really dare to day that?! I am sure nobody's dating Liv Tyler! The review is great but the journalist so mixed everything up.
And the video neither doesn't open for me :/ Which's SOOOOO sad because it's an interview with Matt and Nathan! I'm trying all the tricks I know to watch that...
Edit: thank you very very much sovietkitsch! karma for translating it

Liv Tyler is married to some guy in another band, with which she has a kid. I know that she is good friends with the Kings, and loves they're music. They are most definately not dating. Haha, Matt on drums, that's so spaz. ' Maybe he was thinking a bit too intense about the suffering of Christ.' <<< That made me laugh! Just 'cause someone has a religious necklace don't mean they can't stop thinking about religion [edit] And I will actually kill the next journo who says they sound like U2. [edit, again] I just read what you put below Noxy, I didn't realise they broke up! I just know she's not with Caleb! That would be weird.

It sickens me that journalists like that get to go and see the Kings for free as part of their job.

The journalist was just way too quick with making assumptions. Liv Tyler is here to watch Kings of Leon? Wow, she MUST be dating the lead singer. But if he actually researched right, he'd know Caleb is with Lily and that Liv has always been a good friend of the band. Pff, I really want to see the video, 'cause it says that the band talks about why Liv Tyler was there and all..

More news on the Liv Tyler thing from blogs.humo.be/blogs/2008/07/kings_of_leon_main_stage_1.asp: Hot news: according to Our Man, who is normally good informed,(but not always) Liv Tyler is dating on of the Kings of Leon - it's not yet confirmed which one. Even more: Liv is said to be hanging around at Rock Werchter and - this is what Our Man told us - was dancing the cha cha cha in the backstage trailer of the Kings, with nothing more than a hat on.The gig: During the meantime, at the main stage, Liv's little friends opened their set with Crawl, a brand new song which gives us high hopes for their fourth album 'Only by the night' which is coming out in September. From then on the Kings continued with more known songs, equally amazing: On Call, The Bucket, Molly's Chambers, ... all the winners were played in a tight pass and every syllable that came out of Caleb Followill's throat, were sung along to by the mainly British Fans at the first rows. Speaking of which: last weekend the Kings were headlining Glastonbury, a festival where the beer is even more expensive than in Werchter and according to our regularly BBC watching Man they even played a better set over there. Doesn't matter: we had a splendid time with this very good, although not legendary performance.Highlight: 'Fans' with the today very apposite line: 'Those rainy days ain't so bad when you're the king' and especially 'Charmer' the best Pixies-song since, well, the Pixies.Quote: 'Hi 'Vurkter'! Am I saying it right: 'Vurkter'?' Not really Caleb, thanks anyway. The gig got a 4 out of 5 star review. So it must have been kick ass.

Id love to meet this journalist, how could you not research anything at all..not even they're flipping names!! Theyd write anything to sell papers no matter how untrue or without caring what rumours they start....thats very bizarre though about liv tyler, i dunno whether or not i believe it

Of course it isn't true. I bet everyone was just surprised that Liv Tyler was at the festival. They didn't even considered the possibility Liv was just one of their friends. Oh, and she's back together with her husband, I heard, so ..

Yeah, Liv is back with her hubby. And you're right, The Kings are really good friends with her. Apparently she sends them a xmas cards or somit. Anyway, I think Liv Tyler is awesome. It would be pretty coool, but I think her and Roy are meant to be together for the sake of their child too
