Here are my thoughts on the new songs-
Crawl- nice and catchy, however for some strange reason I am hearing "Fever Dog" (from the movie Almost Famous) LOL.. It sucks that both of my recordings cut off before MAtthews guitar solo, but I guess it gives you all fans something to look forward to. Overall this song will not be lost in the mix years down the road. I anticipate an awesome studio version of this.
Manhattan- I'm still not sold on the title.. Could be the band toying with us. I love this song. When I first heard it I instantly thought of Arizona. This song is complete from start to finish. I love the bass, and the catchy guitar riff Caleb plays over top of the bass. This one will be an instant classic. Cant wait for the studio version!

I cannot resist seeing the title of the topic "(...)the sun can kiss my cheek, the bloody journalists are people, I don't understand at all, they put you on your high horse, and they rock you till you fall..." Paolo Nutini my fellas...

This song has a great care-free vibe about it. However, I'm not sure about "Manhattan" as a name either - perhaps it's just part of the title (I know the guys often abbreviate song names on the setlist). Crawl has its charms too but may be a tad repetitive. I can see it being the "On Call" of the next album. Hopefully it won't lose its grittiness on CD and that guitar solo will be worth the wait. I do think this one will grow on me, especially if the studio recording is well-crafted.
