I feel sorry for Megan that she asked you something privately (and politely) and you've put it up here for everyone to see. It really isn't necessary. I don't think it should be up here but I suppose that's for the mods to decide. I'd like to believe they come on here as well, but in all honesty, there are internships dedicated to updating band websites and keeping tabs on forums and other things of that nature...so...poop

i know for a fact that the actual band members read the forum. i received this information from a very reliable source. maybe they don't read everything, maybe other people read for them most of the time, but they have checked it out for themselves.
and groupielove: don't feel bad for posting pieces of megan's message (i didn't get to read it, you had already deleted them by the time i got here). i know that it was your solidarity with the forum friends to keep us informed.
as a fan, i find it difficult to keep the medium between talking about the band and talking about their personal lives. of course i'm extremely curious but i think it's best to try to stay out of their personal business, as much as possible and despite it being so difficult!!!
before i post anything, i always try to view it as if they were going to read it. it doesn't always work out that way for me, i often post things that seem borderline stalker-ish towards matt (and i worry that he'll know me at shows and tell security to watch out for me or something)....but goodness, i really like him!
anyways, this is a long babble (it is a word!)

It must be hard being loved so intensely by your fans. I think we someimes feel it's okay to be invasive or demanding, because it's just out of our love for them. I don't know I really feel for their situation. Their music is their art and their job. Their fans are a blessing and a burden. I'm just going to always remind myself that they are REAL people and that should be enough to keep my crazy fandom in check.

I'm a big defender of the poor boy's wang. lolol. i hope he read THAT. personally, i used to be quite a groupie myself. wait no, not groupie. just you know, over the top obsessed, so i won't judge anyone who is. you know? we all eventually grow up and look back with a little smile/cringe at the things we used to think. some people just take it too far. i don't think the boys really mind that much about everyone drooling over them just, you know...the whole hunting for all of their secrets thing. idk. i do remember nathan saying something about people invading their privacy on the internet on an interview a few months back. all i know is i'd hate it if every drunken photo i've ever taken ended up on some message board somewhere. |
