the coolest thing happened:
i work at a cafe and we can pretty much play whatever music we want so of course i play KOL all the time! so "camaro" was on (during the solo) and this guy comes up to buy something and he's kinda like nodding his head to the music. so i ask him if he knew who the band was.
he said: "no, but if i had to guess, i'd say led zepplin"
and i said: "no it's kings of leon but that's cool that you think it's zepplin."
he said: "really? kings of leon? i heard they were more radio-friendly."
so, i guess i kinda dispelled that rumor today! :]

They're definitly not Dutch-radio-friendly lemmie tell ya. I think I just might have a minor heart attack if I ever hear them on the radio here. Or ever hear anyhting about them here.

That's so great. Now there's one more KOL fan walking the streets. Preach on!
I left BOTT in my dad's cd player and he was instantly impressed by Knocked Up. However, I do have to question his general taste, just because he's suddenly really into country. I'm sure he's the only Iranian who happens to be into American Country music. I fear for him

On Call was played a couple of times on MTV and some other music channels in Australia. That's about it, I think. I wouldn't consider Aussie radio a friendly place for KOL. UNTIL.......I nearly crashed my car the other day when I was listening to the radio and Black Thumbnail came on. It was awesome. I cranked it up and was singing along and scaring the crap out of people pulled up next to me at traffic lights. Very exciting.

can someone explain the term radio friendly?! the other day i gave my friend my ipod to listen to and she absolutely dislikes KOL especially On Call (but don't worry guys i made her pay for that comment!!!!) anyways so she was bopping her head to a certain song and i was like "what song is that?" and she said "woo hoo, by your Kings of Leon and it's actually really good" another day another converter

hmm...maybe because I'm from and the US and more specifically L.A. (which has absolutely no good radio stations) I equate "radio friendly" with suckage! Seriously, though, the only music that gets played is the mediocre crap that evokes no real reaction. KOL is too awesome and visceral for radio. I do hope to one day be surprised and hear them on the radio, though--so I can flip out and yell out the window of my car " I told you so, bitches! I told you so!"

My dad is always watching the country music channels now. He even programs their radio stations on my car whenever he borrows it! Now I'm begging him to play his Persian cds, which I hated when I was younger. Funny how things have changed. Not that there's anything wrong with country. I quite like the older stuff. It's the new school country I just can't get into.

i was in bed last night (sorry, thats a bit random) and my sister was all like "oooo, i heard a KOL song on the radio today, and i swear ive never heard it, not even when i borrow ur mp3 player for the gym"....so i named for her every KOL song (Assuming it was from BOTT, coz why would a sydney radio station play any of their other songs?! coz their dumb! and only play the same boring shit over and over), and then black thumbnail rang a bell....she is 110% sure that it was black thumbnail... coz she remembered "fingernail"...douchebag!! i dunno why they would play that one of all the songs..seeing as charmer is apparently the nxt single...so...i dunno... but it coulda been a US station...i cant remember so yea...black thumbnail.... i wish the radio didnt always play the same songs over and over..the ones off the charts..like JT and nelly Fartado (however its spelt!) and all that stuff.. i mean im not saying its shit, but its soo obvious that radio listeneres wouldnt appreciate stuff like KOL music, coz its so different, altho we think its catchy... but then again,im so happy that they dont play KOL and the bands i like on repeat...coz then it would be popular and become really bad..who knows? if KOL were to get really big around the world (im gettin worried, their sydney show sold out), their standards might change... i kno wen the Killers Sam's Town came out i felt depressed... im sure if i had of listened to it more (it just sits on my cd rack) that i would like it more... but my sister always told me that Hot Fuss was WAYYYYY to impossible to beat..and she was right- wat an awesome cd! i dont think KOL will ever go shit... i hope not!! coz they rock!!!!

My dad loves 'em. He got my uncle YAYM and ASH for Christmas last year. Then this year my uncle got my dad BOTT. I remember my uncle saying as he was handing my dad the gift wrapped BOTT, "These guys are the best, you'll love them!". My dad opens it and says "Yeah, I was the one who told you about them" in a 'cause-I'm-way-cooler-than-you' tone.

YAY!!!

my dad actually used to have pretty good taste - led zepplin being his main love i would say.....until he turned to te country music. Now sorry to offend anyone, but i don't much like the australian country music scene! i don't think dad has really heard any KOL yet - so i'll have to see what he thinks!
anyway back to the topic - i have to say I haven't heard KOL on the radio in Aus, but my brother heard 'on call' on a triple j album recently - which i don't listen to that much (triple j that is)
