I remember watching an interview with Caleb, and the guy asked him if he did stuff with computers or something along the lines of that, Caleb said he doesn't mess with it, but Jared and another like to get on and see what people have to say about them.

So, it's like, maybe one of them have stumbled across Happy Alone dot com.

Kinda creepy, and amazing to think that, someone as cool as Jared (or...matthew?) could be reading some shit that you have posted...I'll try to find the video.

I know this isn't likely, but still cool to think about.

I did hear that Jared does check out this site on occasion. I seriously doubt he'd choose the screen name "Pianiehues", but stranger things have happened.(Jared, if that is you, I really enjoyed the Aug. 3 MPLS show).

Say it is true, and they're lurking or posting under pseudonyms, that's pretty strange. Not strange of them for doing it, but strange that there's this whole community devoted to discussing them, their lives, and their music. Maybe it's just me, but I'd find it incredibly surreal, - a little uncomfortable, but awesome at the same time. It'd be a trip. Especially with some of the bizarre shit we come up with.....

yeah, I mean Satan's Nannies go on their forum all the time under weird psuedonyms and leave strange posts. It's their way of reaching out to their fans. They don't do it as much as they used to since they're so busy with press and stuff. Jared's probably on here all the time, on the "Jared in Calvin Klein" talking about how sexy he is, and how he wishes he had a lunch box with his cooter on it. In fact, I'm almost certain he does

Well. I've put my foot in my mouth. I wasn't thinking when I posted up there. (But I rarely think when I post! That's my problem!)

To be honest: yes, they prolly (really) do read the boards. I don't know how often, but it's prolly a good source of information to them. They prolly do check up to see what fans' reactions are to things.

I've got this theory! I think they mighta had bad experiences with fan interaction on the web in the past, cuz they don't use the Internet very well. It's a great tool for bands, but the Kings don't communicate or blog or anything.

There was this interview I read back in early '05 right after I started posting on these boards, and it got me so mad! Nathan said something about the fourteen-year-olds who have nothing better to do than hang around the message board 24/7.

There were three boards back then: kol.us, Happy Alone, and the official one. (Only Happy Alone still exists.) I'm sure he was prolly talking about the official one. Jane (who was an old timer on the boards) said Nathan used to post back in, like, 2003. He used his first name, according to her, because people didn't know his first name was "Ivan" back then.

He was pretty acidic when he said what he said in that interview, so I've always kinda thought that that official board made them mean towards BBs. Only someone who'd been burned on a message board would be harsh like that.

But if my theory's correct, that means they're sensitive! Awwww!!! LOL

ANYWAY. If you ask me... yes. They read the boards. And they're relatives prolly do, too, so watch your mouths!
