The thing is since the release of BOTT so many people who had never even heard of the Kings now either hate them and diss them unnecessarily OR love them and go around yelling Charmer at the top of their throats. It's a phase all bands go through, hitting mainstream. Even though the Kings have been mainstream for a few years I think that this album has reached a most definitely younger audience. I'm probably one of the youngest people here but that's because a 30/40 year old man told me about the Kings a few years ago. Not because I aviddly listen to Radio 1/watch MTV.

see I didn't know BOTT is that popular because around here no one really knows of them at all. I've liked them before the album I bought the album before it came out, but I didn't go to any concerts until after the album because no one had a car! So I wouldn't have noticed the difference

I feel like there are a lot of "alternative" bands on vh1 and mtv but no one that watches mtv or vh1 actually listens to them. at least thats how it is in my suburb.

lets stab her in the face with a slice of sharpened toast HAH i love it! but in my personal experience, pressing a hot brownie pan against someone's face is pretty effective, too...

i think we should all go over to her house with blunt intruments, play youth and young manhood and beat her to the drum beat to every single song. then do the same with aha and bott. then we ll ask her, "If we beat you to death and no one is around to hear do you make a sound?"

I deffo think they're mainstream here.
They're 2nd headliners for Leeds/Reading Festival! Of course they're mainstream.
Plus alot of my friends have gotten into them recently, the sort of people who only listen to whatever's 'in' y'know??

how can that stupid woman sit on her lazy arse and say anything about kings of leon?
I mean if you go on that other thread about what Kings of Leon have done for us all it's pretty amazing....
they got me into good music and playing instruments...and that silly bitch that I've never heard of....what has she ever done?
why doesn't she come back with a number 1 album and something remotely interesting to say

I dunno if they've hit 'mainstream' yet - I'm going to see them in Brighton in December and was SOOOOO excited.
I told everybody in work tht I was going and only 3 people had heard of em and only one actually knew their music - sad people!!!
Still on a mission to spread the word about how great they are though
