Derek is a total sweetheart, love that guy! I wish you could all meet him. 
As for the Kings, I've had the chance to meet them several times and they are all really nice guys! Jared is indeed a sweet guy. I remember talking to him after the Nashville show last year and saying something about having some guitar picks from Caleb and a couple of drumsticks from Nathan, but nothing from him or Matt. He asked me if I DID or DID NOT have anything from him (as there was loud music playing) and I told him I didn't. Next thing I know he reaches in his shirt pocket and pulls out his bass pick and hands it to me. Then he smiled and said "well now you do have something from me." What a sweetheart! Caleb is a nice guy as well. He seems to stand off more than the other guys and just take everything in. Nonetheless he is still a sweetheart.
I'm sorry to those of you who have caught them on an off night, but don't take it personal. They really are sweet guys and I do believe they really take to heart the love their fans give them....(ie "Fans"). I hope those who caught them on bad nights have another chance to meet them and see how sweet they really are.
I hope that didn't sound like I was rubbing the above in anyone's face because I wasn't trying too. Just wanted to give another positive write up about the boys.  That is so sweet. I've never met them but stories like these warm my heart. |

I'm sure I'll never meet them - I've never tried as I'm old enough to be their mother and might scare them! I do feel a genuine warmth and affection for them though for what they bring into my life through their music, and my husband has just told me tonight they are his absolute favourite band. they love their "older fans" ........ that's what nathan told smiler and i when we asked him! the age thing has never stopped us!  |
