Well, all I know is that most of the people I've spoken to don't really know about them except for two people and that's only because one's father is from tennessee and the other is going to bonnaroo because her friends are "dragging" her.
I'd say make sure you are coming here first and then buy tickets...that way you won't have to scalp them. Tout them...you know.

well i'm from california... and i don't know a single person who knows about KOL. i don't get it! the first time i ever heard about them was when mtv showed the video for the bucket about two years ago. and i have never heard them on the radio or seen them anywhere else. it's kinda nice because i feel like i have them all to myself, but they don't play many shows here so i don't know when i'll ever get to see them does EVERYBODY in the uk know about them? i can't even imagine what that would be like!

Yes, EVERYBODY in the UK knows about them. I've only ever heard one person say they didn't particularly like them.

YEah, everyone definitely knows who they are in the UK, and has heard some of their music even if they don't necessarily like them

Apart form the fact that they are an excellent band I think that Kings of Leon's success in the UK partly stems from the the lack of quality to be found in the British indie scene at the moment. There is so much shit about these days that its hard to sort the quality from the shit. There are so many generic bands appearing that don't offer anything new, no original ideas. Of course the quality of the King's music speaks for itself and they have a really cool image so it doesn't take long before peeps start taking notice.

yeah gotta agree, there are only a few decent british bands about at the moment...and yeah most people i know have heard of kings, and a lot of them are really getting into them now, with the new album etc... amazing that they're so unknown over the ocean

very popular in the UK, very popular, you really have to struggle to get tickets to their shows that's how popular they are, they just sell out, particularly the London gigs

i would totally disagree in saying everybody knows them. thats a huge overstatement. a lot of people dont know who they are still. i was talking about the gig last night to some of my friends who were saying theyd never heard of them, and never heard anything theyve played. and when i told these people that they were number one in the album charts they were shocked as they hadnt heard of them. so i think it would very much depend on what type of music they are into.

British indie has some awesome stuff around! look at the arctic monkeys and kasabian.....awesome!!!

I'm from South Carolina and non of my friends like them except one who is not even from my state. I don't get the fact that they aren't more popular then they are but i think that may change with the new CD. I heard about them around the time of YAYMH, but didnt buy any CDs until i read an article in Rolling Stone before they went on tour with U2. I think your chances of getting tickets are very good so go for it.

ive started a small group of fans here in rochester ny. nobody knew them before i came. my roommate thinks that caleb sounds like the guidance councler from south park on molly's chambers (mmm kay). ruined the song for me for a while.. but he likes shit music anyway, so it doesnt matter. ive found that people who like good music will and do like the kings.

I'm from California and I barely know people who listen to them, or even know them. My friend was the one who introduced me to their music, but that doesn't count because she's from Britain. Gigs do sell out but not as fast as it does in Britain.
When I do talk to people who usually like the same music as I do, I tell them to check out KOL. They do, and they end up loving their music. I think it's particularly sad how KOL is less appreciated in their home country.

They seem to be picking up the pace a bit in America now. It looks like they're playing decent sized venues on this tour. But they're moving into enormo-dome territory over here. I hate Hammersmith and that's about the only place you can see them in London now. Most of my friends have good taste in music so know about them and like them. I just got my brother into them and he fell hook, line and sinker and plays them all the time now. So good taste must be in the genes.

I'm from Ohio and I've never heard them on the radio at all - it seems the only way anyone has ever heard of them is by word-of-mouth. Tickets for their show at House of Blues in Cleveland went on sale March 23rd, and still haven't sold out (except for the upper balcony - those seats are all gone). And the House of Blues is not a big venue.
So I'd say your chances of seeing them up-close in the States is really good!

They have a lot more ads on tv then they used to. I can see them pickin up a following here. They already have plenty of people listening in Richmond. But they still have the people that just cant take it. Most people hate the vocals.
