Is layla rul and bar23 the same place?
Just asking because those pics are from layla rul and the guy says the fight was at bar 23.
In which case it could have been the other half of the band. To be honest that sounds more likely, the namecalling dosent suprise me.

And I'm pretty sure the pictures and the incident didn't happen on the same night. There was a write up about the fight in the weekly circular here two weeks ago, and the pictures showed up in the same circular last week. The fight seems possible to me because they seem cocky. They were probably just angry because they don't get any play on The River. haha |

Did anyone see the movie Jarhead?
In the movie it explaints that the term was originally a term to describe an ideal soldier, lacking of a brain, an empty skull, a jarhead.
So... yeah, i dunno if ya'll want to use it as jareds nickname...

Kings Of Leon? No. QUEENS of Leon.
Current mood: aggravated
Wednesday night I was talking to Jay on the phone and we randomly decided to go out and have a drink. ...........(blah blah blah).......... We left Mafi's and went to my little neighborhood, The Gulch, where we took part in Bar23's weekly 80s night. It's always packed with hot Nashvillians who want to be Paris Hilton. So it's always fun. Jay and I are instantly making friends and taking shots and dancing for sure!
We go upstairs and mingle there. Well, here's where the story gets interesting...
Jay notices these guys who are dressed very hipster like, but look really dirty, staring at us...so on the way back downstairs we pass them and say "what's up?" Their response: "Fags." HOLD UP! Nu-Uh! No they di'nt. I say "Excuse Me?" Jay then responds with some remark and the group of dirty, smelly assholes sprays us with their beer. Oh Hell NO!
Jay bitch slaps one of them and then all of the guys start shoving and yelling. Not wanting to make too big of a scene and get our asses in a fight--I pull on Jay so we can just go back downstairs. We go--door guy Kiel from 23 apologizes to us on the guys behalf and insists we should be able to be welcome in MY neighborhood.
I then realize the guys that started this shit, is Kings Of Leon. A rock band that opens for U2 and are critically acclaimed. Whatever tho...they're skanky. Kiel then says, please don't talk trash about the bar on the radio...and then gives us an open bar tab for the remainder of the night!
HELL YEAH! Cue 10 minutes later--the assholes walk by and start crap again. Pushin and shovin is involved and then one of the guys flicks his cigarette at my face. I reach for my beer bottle behind me, have it in hand and bringing it towards his face but a bystander grabs it out of my hand to prevent the dudes face from being broken.
I wish I could have just hit him with it tho. Again, Kiel gets them to back upstairs and apologizes. He doesn't kick any of us out. Kiel is such a f'n nice guy and really could have just sent us all home.
Rock star attitudes are fine to an extent, but these nobodies thought they were cool enough to discriminate and get away with it. I guess they though we wouldn't take up for ourselves, but we did. Closed minds need to have closed mouths. With their attitudes, I hope they NEVER do anything with music and hope that karma gets their asses big time.
Jay, I love you kid. This friendship is a soul-mate friendship. You're the only one this shit could ever happen with. You keep up with me, when most can't. We shall refer to them now as QUEENS of Leon!
Next time we see those guys--WE'RE GON' KICK 'DEY ASSES! I'm surprised i'm the first to say this but: FOUR KICKS WHOS STRUTTIN NOW! |
