Wowee thanks. I so love this place.
Yeah I know. I remember seeing him in 10 Things I hate About You and being intensely jealous of Julia Stiles. I don't quite know how to say how sad I am. My friend's father died a couple of years ago and that was tough, but imagine never really knowing your father. He's younger than my brothers and that makes me sad.
Yes Scribe is from New Zealand! Well done. Perhaps you should invest in an atlas? Just maybe? I like Scribe, just not his music. Not really down with hip-hop. I like The Mint Chicks for Kiwi music. They're rad!
Yup yup I heart it!

he has the nicest smile in 10 things i hate about you. i remember us girls droolling over him, in english, in the 9th grade, when we did a film study on it. its just weird, at that time i didnt think he would be dead in a couple of years
you know whats ironic??? the film CANDY.. its Australian. it has him in it. its about him and his wife's addiction to drugs. i know we dont know his exact cause of death, but its so ironic, coz apparently he was struggling with drug and alcohol abuse. so sad. the movie is about how they never get outt of the struggle
anyway, another one of his movies, thats coming out, at the end he commits suicide. how ironic, again.
so depressing... i just cant believe it !!

abby cornish is in candy aye?
i know. it's like when i was 6 and kurt cobain died. my brothers were distraught and i couldn't understand why. but as i've gotten older you realise what talent is and how it can be wasted by things like guns and pills and relying on material things instead of your family or just people.
totally like life imitating art. it happens all the time, sometimes in a good way, sometimes not so good.
perth will be tough tomorrow. can you tell me what it's like? i've never been to any state other than Q'Land.

the only other country ive been to is Lebanon, twice...so one day you must tell me all about NZ.. i mean its pretty bad when all i know about it Scribe and Everest. in terms of interstate places, ive only ever been to canberra (lots of dead kangaroos on highways) and perth tomorrow.
i would have been like 2 years old when Cobain died. but then again, the only reason i love Nirvana is coz i stole my brother's (who is 28 now) Nevermind. ive watched and own a few documentries about Kurt's death and life. really sad
abby cornish is hot. im straight, but she is very good looking. but she always plays such trashy roles in movies.

I FEEL OLD! I am so depressed cos it's my birthday on Tuesday and I so don't want to get older. GRRRR.
New Zealand is gorgeous. Like the whole country is stunning. On my way to uni every day I go round Wellington Harbour which always looks beautiful and stormy.
Yes Abby Cornish is hotty with a body. But in the words of Rove "who would you turn gay for?" it would have to be Scarlett Johanson. She is absolutely stunning!

Hello fellow fans! I'm Sarah. Originally from Far North Queensland in Australia, now living in Wellington NZ with my family and going to uni. I have come to realise that what I am studying will get me absolutely no money and a broken heart. Oh dear! But it will save lives hopefully so I live in hope. I ultimately want to make sure that every kid in the world has an education, kai and a full puku three times a day. For thoses of you who don't understand Maori kai=food and puku=tummy. I'm going to go eat my dinner now. Ooh, how do you find out who gave you karma? ? Tena koe fellow Kiwi, haha. My Maori is actually rather rubbish, but I do what I can. You can have my Karma for knowing some useful keywords, lol. Welcome to the forum (Though I can't really speak, I'm just as new as you are). Please don't hate me, I'm a JAFA but I'm still nice and respect the rest of the country. Sorta. =D What are you studying in Victoria? Is it a good uni for law and economics by any chance? I'm 99% sure that I'm going to go to Auckland in '09 but it's still a good idea to check out my other options.

KA PAI milf! My Maori is also a bit rubbish, but I keep working at it. Aww, thanks for the karma =) I shall ignore the fact that you come from Auckland, if you can ignore the fact that I'm actually Australian! In the words of Bono "where you live should not decide whether you live or whether you die". Vic is really good for Law, like the best in the country, I think the econoics department is pretty ace too. I am doing a BA with a double major in Anthropology and Development Studies. This means (cos I can totally see the bewildered look on your face) that I study the history of culture and what role culture plays in society and how it functions, its importance, etc, etc. That's Anthropology, and Development Studies looks at how people/tribes/ethnic groups are ripped of by the corporate beaurocratic (I can't spell this word) dicks in suits, and how we can help them, by all holdign hands and singing folk songs with AK47s at our sides. In a nutshell basically! Come to Wellington! It whips Auckland's arse!

I only made it to the first sydney show though I wish I'd gone to both. I'm not going to see the Foos this time round though I love them dearly. I've seen them 3 times (including sitting first row at their 3rd acoustic show!) and I'm not really that keen on the new album. Instead I invested in a ticket to Vfest and Future Music Festival. I can't remember what else took precedence but yeah if I some how miraculously come across a ticket I would love to see them again. Darl i feel your pain - the new album makes me want to cry - im not keen on it at all. but, ive only listened like twice. i know thats not fair of me, however, its just...really bad. i love love love stranger things have happened i know and the pretender. they stand out to me I'm not judging. I too have only listened to it like twice. I have this ritual - when I buy a new CD i sit on my bed and listen to the entire album through, then decide what I think about it. I fell asleep listening to "Echoes, silence, patience and grace" and I don't think that's ever happened before. Oh and I hadn't had a big night out or anything, so there is no excuse. Yeah agreed the pretender is great. It was clever of them to release it as their first single so as to entice listeners into buying the album but I really thought it was lacking. I hate how musicians mature, and have kids and lose the spark. Grr...

^ Gangles, I'm an Anthro major too! 'Holla' Yay! I haven't found many people who do major in it. Do you mind if I ask where you study? Just that I would like to do post-grad in it, only not in NZ. Holla back at you (and karma 'cos Anth is cool!).

^ Yeah, we're kind of a dying breed I'm studying at Pomona College (really small indepent school in Southern California) and we have the most horrible Anthro dept. just because it's so small. But I've taken this semester and the last one off because I hated that school and it was driving me nuts (so I wouldn't recommend anyone come here, its only undergraduate though). Two of my favorite and younger profs did their post-graduate work at UC Santa Barbara and Columbia University. Once I go back this fall I'll have to look at my plans for the future more seriously. Still 3 semesters to go before I get my BA.

Haha maybe I won't go there then! What is an independent school? As opposed to a public school/college? Oh man, the amount of times I have been asked what anth is I should get a dollar, 'cos then I would be a rich woman! I'm just about to start my 2nd year, thus 4 semesters. Oh such a long time! By the way, I adore your avatar. Nacho is the sweetest human.

This is great. People can identify him by his tush now. haha! Well it's not public and it has no religious affiliations. Independent or private universites are usually smaller and more expensive (some have great financial aid though, like mine because they don't rely on gov't funding. At least that's the way it is in the US. I always get asked what anthropology is, too! I usually ask if they want the short or long answer! I love it so much as a discipline. I once had a sociology professor say that her book was criticized for being 'too anthropological', and it was one aspect I really respected about her research. ha! Oh my, is that Captain Planet in your avatar? That is all kinds of awesome. I have the theme song running through my head now Gonna take pollution down to zero!

^^ Oh my when I saw Nacho at the I thought to myself that is a fine looking arse! And then I blushed lol.
Oh I see. I don't think we have those down here. Just Polytechnics and Bible Colleges, and straight Universities.
I love the idea that at the core of humanity everyone is the same, just the way we express ourselves is different. Hmm, way too deep and meaningful for the middle of the night!
Hehe Captain Planet was one of the few cartoons I was allowed to watch as a kid, and I'm into conservation, so I love him. He actually is my hero!!!!

hello... my name is Avril, i'm seventeen but turning 18 in april, im from sydney but im moving to canberra in about three weeks, to study art history there. I haven't posted much on here but I'm addicted to the site! I've only been to one KOL concert (hordern pavilion syd 3rd jan 08) which makes me feel a little inexperienced compared to everyone on here... My new years resolution is to go to a KOL concert each year if i can! I only really got into Kol this year but I really love them. My other favourite musicians/bands are David Bowie, Queen, White stripes, Neil Young, Radiohead, Regina Spektor and Robots in Disguise.
