i am having a party at my house for this night. my friends could care less about kings of leon, but i will have the volume up all the way and will make them watch it.
Also..........
i will most likely be recording this straight to dvd. if i can get my hands on a recorder.
if so, i will gladly share this with anyone who is interested.
i will keep you updated.

What, so Austin City Limits is a TV show or what? Don't understand, did they like record a whole set or what? As far as I got it that's something like a homage about the Austin music scene and a bunch of bands were invited to do televisioned performances and that became a program with a few episodes. Kings are on the 15th episode! And seems like they performed a "big" set with Black Thumbnail, Taper Jean Girl, King Of The Rodeo, My Party, Molly's Chambers, The Bucket, Four Kicks, On Call, Fans, Arizona, McFearless, Knocked Up, Charmer, Slow Night, So Long.

PBS is commercial-free too, so even if they only get half the show that's a solid 30 minutes of never before seen live performance footage. Woo! It's in 2 weeks so now might be a good time to search the TV guide, find the air time in your city and set record

Has anyone noticed that its not listed on television. I was searching for it to Tivo and I got to Jan 12th Austin City Limits on DirecTV and it had Bloc Party listed. Anyone else see that?

About three weeks ago I checked to see who was playing and it listed Kings of Leon!! Even though I knew the date was set for Jan 12th I still wanted to see if it was right. And of course it was wrong, Lucinda Williams was on instead, so they do tend to screw up the line-up every now and again

I have DVR and on Wednesday I tried to set the TV to record it, but Austin City Limits wasn't showing up anywhere on the schedule. I tried again last night and it was on there (and it did say Kings of Leon.) So maybe try again?

I can't wait for the uploads! Should be a great show. I fucking can't too... I've requested a few people and hopefully links to download that will appear soon or late. But lucky people that will watch that tomorrow & I see there are going to be a bunch of broadcasts. www.aptv.org/Schedule/showinfo.asp?ID=162494&Nola1=AUCL

I watch austin city limits religiously and with two acts, they split the hour show (no commercials) in half. there will be 30 minutes of non-stop KOL rocking the states.

Ohh it sounds awesome, I'm so jealous of you who are going to watch that. Do you know if they'll put an interview with band? Is there any chance of this happens?

thanks so much for the link Lihllvmch. Karma for that. took me forever to find it listed, but my DVR is now set for the 17th. CAn't wait!!! I lived in Austin for years and saw several shows over the years. The ACL stage/studio is so tiny and intimate (and there's free beer!!!) I'm so jealous of the lucky people that got to see KOL there.
