British director Robert Hales, who created the promo for Gnarls Barkley's mega-hit Crazy, suggested the four-piece undergo hypnotism for the quirky video. A band insider says, "When it came to filming, the hypnotist couldn't do it. "The lads were saying it wasn't working and was just stupid. "The crew tired to persuade them to give it a proper try but Caleb (Followill, the band's frontman) in particular wasn't having any of it. In the end the band said they would play their song and do a straight performance number."
