Also, wouldn't it be great if they ended slow night the way it is on the album. Rise and Shine etc... just caleb by himself on guitar. I have seen 8 shows and I pray they do that everytime. agreed. that would be incredible oh definately. or maybe start the show like the king of the rodeo video. that'd be sweet.

Ben Kweller did this thing where he had concerts 3 nights in a row in NY where on the 1st night he played his 1st studio album from start to finish, on the 2nd night his 2nd cd etc.
How incredible would it be if the Kings did that...i would so be there.

I think they mostly play the same setlist because the order that is it makes the show so memorable. Some songs naturally lead into others. Its like a story. There are also songs they just don't like playing live.

lol i'm sure they could remember their own songs even if they kept changing - they are pros after all! but yeah i wish they'd play more of their older (particularly yaym) stuff. i wanna see how the classics have evolved as theyve had time to polish them. I would love to hear Red Morning Light , Wasted time or Holy Roller Novocaine Live. Wow, I would be in heaven if they played those. You'd think bands would be able to remember their own songs but I don't know how many times I've seen the Chili's and Anthony's forgotten the word's must be all the drugs rot's the brain!

They Definately need to play some different songs at their shows. They are becoming notorious for putting on scripted, same-set shows, and they're better than that. Has anyone here ever heard them play Velvet Snow live?

they should go flaming lips on us and have silly girls in costumes on the sides of the stage dancing, since they're all close together and such...that's a lot of open stage that they could be utilizing aah thank you for your flaming lips reference.

I've noticed that their tour schedule is absolutely insane. I used to think they were just bored on stage, but now I think they're probably just really, really tired!

Sometimes...I'll buy a certain liquor in bulk, like multiple bottles, or just one really big like jug thing, and I'll drink that for weeks and weeks til it's all gone, and then it physically pains me to look at it....And then after I've gone through a few others and gotten tired of those, I'll go back to one of the old ones. maybe that's how they feel, they played a few of those earlier songs to death, and they never want to torture themselves with it again. So I'm sure it will get to that point with BotT and then they'll want to go back to drinking YAYM and ASH....I mean playing everything is equatable to alcohol

i too find the whole rigid setlist thing silly. They have the elasticity to play whatever song they want (obviously depending on how the equipment has been tuned and such), cause they have no special lightning or screens or stuff happening on stage that binds them on a particular setlist. They probably just sat down and decided that these 20-or-so songs are their strongest at this point and this is the right order to flow from one song to the other and this is how they should stick to it. Probably they feel more confident with their latest stuff as well. That's my guess anyway We would all like to see more songs though, specially considering the fact that there are loads of fans who follow them around in concerts... And also, all three KoL albums are so strong in their entirety, that u can't really pick 3 or 4 songs out of them, they're all almost equally good, so why the hesitation? Huh? Huh Caleb?

You are so wise, HPK. (By the way, congrats on the scholarship!) I'm like a miniature buddha, covered in hair And thanks, I'm uber pysched, it was so overwhelming, the auditions were last quarter, and they gave everyone callbacks, but they just called me a few days ago and asked me to join, no callback needed. I'm still flipping out.
