When I was 16 I wanted Cemetary Gates by Pantera. But my loved ones will be relieved to know, not anymore.
I'd be be happy with just about any Pearl Jam song, except for "Alive"...that's just mean.

I think the melody of Arizona would be pretty powerful...the lyrics not as much though Gone Away by the Offspring, i bet a million people have had that played at their funeral, but its pretty much "perfect" (if that makes sense): www.sendspace.com/file/0lee4z

AC/DC - HIGHWAY TO HELL!
i decided on that a long time ago. i dont want people crying at my funeral over sad music - i wanna go out in style.
if it had to be something by the kings i'd say......... Four Kicks

Definitely agree with the sentiment about Arizona's melody.
Hopefully one day KOL will write a beautiful sad song about a death, or at least something that could be interpreted as death, so it can be played at my funeral.
Because as beautiful as Arizona or Trani or even Milk are I don't want a song about a hooker played for my freidns and family after I've passed.
As for now I'm undecided about a funeral song, but there are lots that would be good.
Have You Ever Seen the Rain - CCR Yesterday - Beatles Let It Be - Beatles to name a few

I'd like to have 'A Change Is Gonna Come' by Sam Cooke Emotional, but oh well it's my most favourite song ever I love that song! Wouldn't that be a great song for KOL to cover? For my funeral, I just want a continous loop of KOL and Rolling Stones playing while everyone gets drunk and fights.....just like a typical Irish wake. Ah yes! I'd be so happy if KOL covered it, Caleb's voice would work really well with it too. I hope my funeral is near christmas too, so at the afterparty everyone can get drunk and sing the fairytale of new york by the pogues, haha

Yes Yes Caleb's voice would song really good on that song. Oh the possibilities.
As for my funeral music...shoot I don't know Tiny Dancer? If Elton's good enough for Princess Diana, he's good enough for me.

It would be best to hold off until January or February when the weather sucks and there's nothing going on.

Okay one more thought and then I'll stop:
Caleb could sing the phone book and I'd think it's beautiful.
That's all.

i guess it could be done...with one of their slower songs..but i'd want the people there to get a really good cry..not in the spirit of being mean..but don't we all need to have a really good cry sometime?
i'd like to have i will follow you into the dark by death cab played..or something else...

My mom asked me about this the other day...which scared me a bit, but I hadn't thought about it until then.
I decided on "The Good Old Days" by The Libertines...with a constant backing of Oasis songs at the wake (preferably the uplifting "anthemy" ones as opposed to "Morning Glory" or "Cigarettes and Alcohol").
One older lady in my town was a huge Badgers fan (Wisconsin Badgers, our states college mascot) so as the pall bearers were taking her out she had them play "On Wisconsin" (which is our school's fight song, and state song...it's an upbeat victory song, so it was hilarious...I'd like something memorable like that to happen).

i would have to rename myself Joe. and then have sexual relations with a women already in a relationship. have the other guy find out, and make him shoot me in the head. i will get fred to set this all up
then i would have my funeral music as "knocked up"
