the smashed up lightbulb is ok but the on call cover is a bit boring? maybe the typo is temporary while they try to figure out what they're actually going to use. or would it be too late for messing around?

Awesome covers. cheers for posting. Love the simple effect. Font doesn't bother too much, although the *other* BOTT cover was pretty awesome. Youth and Young Manhood also had a very simple font on the cover.

I can and I do! The Times cover is a bit of extremly creative photography of a lightbulb explodeing capturing a moment its dynamic, my theory is that you would have to shoot the lightbulb with exactly the right right velocity projectile. (I'm actually thinking a high velocity air rifle) sync'd with some very tricky flash work.

Where as the Fray's cover is a bit of a crap construction still life using Tungsten lighting on daylight film probably by a smug hippy who think they are postmodern. Probably has a beard too!

Plus no-one outside of America has heard of the fray and they look like a second rate coldplay*

Yep looks like an x-ray of a skull kind of goes with the scientific photography nature of the shot lightbulb. Its an Aha! Moment! the skulls just had an explosive idea¬!

Haha that cover is WAY too confusing because its very busy. Two pictures on an album cover like that make the album look weird.

I don't like that cover at all.

They should decide on one or the other - skull or lightbulb.

The On Call cover is fab. It wouldn't surprise me if they've had a last minute change of artwork, or if they're using different versions in different countries again.
