Yeah, I am praying for New Orleans at every chance. That city is ten feet under sea level, touching the ocean and next to a lake. They believe that the hurricane is going to come inland, hit that lake and flood downtown under 30 feet of water. That thought is so scary.

yeah, but it's not looking as bad as it did last night. because at the last minute, the hurricane veered 50 miles to the right (I think) -- so Biloxi, Mississippi (pop. 50,000) is getting the brunt of it. plus the winds slowed down a bit, and they declared it a category 4 instead of a 5.
haha I don't know why I know all of this. I think it's cause I sleep with the tv on, so I hear the news in my sleep.

I expect the death toll to be innumberable. New Orleans was under ten feet of water. All those people in there house that choose not to leave, or had nowhere to go, must have drowned.
We will see how much longer the President and his administration can ignore, and deny, the issue of Global Warming.

Weather fluctuates all the time, we're just beginning to near the end of our ice age fully. Atleast we happen to be the least polluted place in the world.

If you refuse to believe that this hurricane was not effected by global warming... then I don't know what to tell you.

I love science and I've read extensive articles on both points of view which is where I've drawn my conclusions.
We're also experiencing global cooling at the same time which is keeping us at status quo which is keeping one from taking over the other.

I feel absolutely horrible about what happened in Louisiana. My dad's business sent bunches of money down there... I hope everyone gets better. I'm flying down there in a month to help out with the red cross. My school is starting up a fund to supply victims with clothing and other kinds of essentials for life. Martial law is declared down there. that's horrible... ((it's when the government and civil rights are banned and the miliatry has control which means they could shoot people if they get out of hand... we discussed it at school today.)) Like you've gotta figure the impact it's gonna have on the country... The oil refineries down there are closed and I know that gas was like $2.40 yesterday and today it's almost over $3 at $2.89. it's total chaos, the gas thing. And on another note, loads of insurance companies are going to go bankrupt or in debt from having to pay the residence their money for their houses and possessions. It said on the news that agencies like State Farm are paying nearly $500,000 per family. You gotta figure how much money that is... It's depressing, really because that's all you see on the news these days.
