Here's the real dirty truth: Most of the US is black now-unlike the UK. Now whites over here are trying to "act black" and saying it's not hip anymore to listen to "whitey" music like rocknroll so that's why we have rap and music like Jho , Britney, and wannabe blacks like Justin Timberlake popular here. I don't think KOL unfortunately stands a chance in the US like in UK. It's become a sad day in the US now that rocknroll is not selling anymore.  um i really dont appreciate that comment, as a person of color i dont appreciate it at all. i listen to rock and i like KOL and im Mexican! so i dont think it has to do w/ race. yes hip-hop is dominating radio and tv stations but that does not mean its cause there are more black people! music is just not good anymore here in America and hopefully it will change but i dont think it has to do w/ race! |

I agree whole heartedly and to say Rock and Roll is white music seems ill informed when you look at its evolution from R&B * Ultimately what wins out in the American market seems to be cheap and disposable music. Hip Hop tracks can be put together in an afternoon in a poorly equiped studio. I think its a bit like Americas love for McDonalds it maybe nutrionless crap but its available on every high street. * Rhythm and Blues in its original context not Asthmatic halfnaked girls with samplers. |

Let me clarify: I never wrote anything about Mexicans-I wrote about Blacks or African Americans, if you will. And yes I'm aware of Rock n Roll's roots with R&B. But I'm concerned about RIGHT NOW. Times have changed. WAKE UP! I work with and have Black friends. None of them care for Rock n Roll much less KOL. Maybe some out there do like KOL, but I don't know any. I'm not here to offend. This is just how I'm seeing the US music scene right now. Real Rock n Roll is dying a slow death. |

I think this conversation would be best left alone now, because it looks to me like you have realised the mistake youve made and are trying to turn it around to make csolis look like a racist. and feel free to retaliate to this post any way you see fit, because i will not be responding. i came only here only to point out that you shouldnt be speaking to other thread members the way you have just spoken to concepcion. |
