As a fan, I am scared that U2 fans will be a bunch of drunk pricks... so I can only imagine what the boys are thinking.

just read todays paper saying how great the start of u2 s tours started, and how there was 20,000 people there but not one mention of k o l.

I tried to go on the U2 forum to see how people were liking KOL, but you need to pay $40 just to join. wtf? I hope I was clicking on the wrong thing, and that they are not screwing people out of that much money.

Then I decided to go on a a livejournal community, and I've been looking through the posts for awhile because these U2 fans post every friggin second about what song is playing at the current show, but I don't know how good it's looking for the kings.

Here are some things I have found:
1) A huge write up of the show, with no mention of KOL
2) One person said they sounded like the clash, but not as good
3) someone else was wishing Keane would open instead

A few people have seemed to be open to their music though. I guess it's only been one night, so we'll just have to wait and see how things turn out.

ok i found some positives

i was watching the news the other day and it was talking about the u2 tour and it showed a lil clip of kol at the first show in san diego and they were playing the bucket and the crowd were loving it

and on this radio station i was listening to they were talking to some u2 (american fans) about the opening show in san diego and the radio presenter asked one of the fans .

Rp: oh by the way who was the opening act.

u2 fan: kings of leon they were actually pretty good
i had never heard of them before the show and i thought they rocked.

Rp: yeah the kings of leon are an amazing band there latest album is one of the best albums of last year.

and then there was this tiny article in an irish newspaper and it didnt really say much it just said

The excellent kings of leon supported U2 with a half -hour medley of their biggest hits despite them being a little late .

sadley some americans havent caught on to the kings of leon yet- despite them being from the states.

in my personal opinon U2 couldnt of picked a better band to open the show for them.

Seriously, as an American I can say this: Americans are stupid. Don't take some shitty San Deigo newspaper seriouly. The reporter was just probably mad that he had to buy his tickets from a scalper for $200.
