don't worry, you'll be fine I'm sure..
I'm thinking about going to some festivals/gigs on my own. After going with a couple of friends, everyone having somewhat different musical tastes and temperaments.... i can see the beauty of going on your own, and hanging out with random people when you feel like it.
bonding with new people, and not having the existing connections there to rely on...
I'll maybe go to one festival with friends, and go solo on the rest. Sad or not! lol

Exacccctly. You go to what you want, when you want... have your people time when you want it, and alone time when you want it... also you dont really have to worry about pissing anyone off over anything stupid because its most likely you'll never see any of them again anyway...
As cool as it is to go with people, I think there are serious advantages to doing it alone... downside is obviously that you dont have anyone else looking after you or helping to watch your stuff... but how often are you separated and your stuff goes unwatched anyway? Psssssh.
Go it alone :-D

lol... i like the t-shirt idea! but your surest way of meeting up is to walk into the auld dubliner pub in temple bar at, let's say 6pm and shout "I'm a dirty bird!!!" at the top of your lungs. You might get a few looks but one of us will grab you and bring you over to join us for pre-gig beers and larfs! If i do, will you buy me my first pint of proper Irish Guinness?!
and thankyou Meggg & Prickles, i'll let you know what it's like to go to a gig on ones own and how it works out. I mean, we are independant ladies, we can do this, yeah we can, post feminism an' all .. yeah!!!

Exactly, i love going to gigs on my own, you dont have to worry about anyone else's fun but your own. And if you get down the front, nobody will ever notice you're on your own anyway. Enjoy Dublin, i'm hoping to get to it myself, just waiting to hear if my friend can swing us guest passes.

Yeah, but you can buy your own after that! Are you really going to join the party then?? awh it's okay i'll buy my own, and yes if i am wanted and i hopefully won't bore you to death with my company then i shall ponder into the auld dubliner pub and see where we go from there, it'lll be fun! and it is really kind of you to offer me some company it'll be nice to see some familiar faces there apart from the four/five people on the stage lol I'm all looking forward to it now, i realised the other night that it will be the teenyest Kings gig i've been to (i was quite stunned to realise the capacity was smaller than that of the Leadmill!) Try and get those passes (ooh look at yow guest passes an all hehe *waves hand in air in camp stylee* oooh ) everyone who possibly can make it to that gig has to get there, it's gonna be amazing!! 600 people woooooooeeeeeyyy!!

Fair play to you dirty bird! You sound like you're up for a laugh!! ... We may not be making our arrival in the auld dub until about 6:30 (not 6 like i said before)... You'll probably want to do your own thing... but like i said before, feel welcome, it's going to be one hell of a party!! If we don't end up seeing you... ENJOY THE GIG!!! ps: It's probably too late now, but send an email if you're not coming!! Don't want to end up looking out for the person who never turned up!!

thankyou!! why not seems to be my moto of late. anyways i am deffinately going ot be there it is too late to let my insecurites push me into backing out now, i shall be arriving in Dublin around noonish and i'll probably be in the pub by about 1ish haha so yeah come and let me know you are there! i'll give u a brief description of myself, i have long dark hair and will more than likely be wearing my black shawl, so just look out for a girl who looks a bit dazed and confused and asking random Irishmen if they can play a Bodhran better than i can hahaha you'll notice me i dunno how but you will anyways it'll be nice to have the company, it's no fun getting drunk on your own even when you do end up scaring the locals xxx

They even played an encore of three songs. Met Caleb & Matthew afterwards, got me ticket signed and a couple of pictures. I wish I had more Southern Comfort. Its so damn tasty... Orangy...

lol i can never understand Caleb, i must be deaf or something he was however STOMPING!! WOW! hehe that was o cool AND they .. oh yes i remembered something he said or heard something he said, something like "we havn't played this one in a while" and they played Wasted TIme!! it was great to hear that being played live again! they didn't play Spiral Staircase though and i felt tempted momentarily to call for Molly's Hangover but it passed and they didn't play it. i should have.
