Pikeys are people? I just thought it was a slang word for cheap skate's!

Pikey is a pejorative slang term used in the United Kingdom. The term originally referred to a gypsy as a contraction of the word "turnpike", but in recent years the definition has become looser and it is sometimes used to refer to a wide section of the (generally urban) underclass of the country, particularly those on whom the lower middle classes look down. However, when used to refer to gypsies it clearly has racist connotations.
The Oxford Slang Dictionary indicates that the original usage dates back to 1847.
Negative British attitudes towards "pikeys" (in this case meaning gypsies) were a running joke in the 2000 Guy Ritchie film Snatch.
Since the 1990's crustie has sometimes been used to refer to a kind of traveller who shares some of the characteristics of a pikey and a hippy.
The American terms trailer trash and white trash are similar in the condescension and disdain with which they used, though the stereotypes differ in some particulars.
Related terms used not to refer to an ethnic group, but more specifically to refer to urban or suburban miscreants include townie, spide, kappa slapper (a combination of a brand of sportswear and a pejorative colloquialism for a promiscuous girl or woman), Ned (Scottish) and the recently popular term chav. Thise is a phenomenon which has grown since the 1980's and is not connected with a travelling gypsy lifestyle but rather with changes in British urban life and, some argue, falling educational standards .

Actually the pack of ciggs looks like Peter Stuyvesants... which is in my top three brands.
Nothing competes with Malboro mediums or reds, Peter Stuyvesants, and Lucky Strikes... except maybe Chinese ciggarettes.
