reading this and the official site's notes, it seems the boys have allowed many close enough to feel "special". i pray the masses are under 25 and able to later excuse this sad, sad groupie wannabe behavior when they finally wake up and realize that backstage pass only truly meant something to the one still holding the ticket stub. some of us check out a site for tour updates and press notes.........not to catch up on who can brag of a forgettable chance encounter....... or how one chose to drop her pants for roadie nacho as if he or any of them could remember your name the next city.
i know these boys........which makes it all more sad when i read the other side's story.
there is more dignity fucking that guy in Cancun you don't know than bragging as seeming somewhat memorable to travelling band boys. they aren't too picky.

I'm surprised many have had the maturity to ignore this thread but I'm always keen for a little immature debate.
Everyone's entitled to their own opinions but I do think this world would be a better place if we all judged people a little less, don't you?
It does take two to tango and it's probably a good thing bands have groupies or they'd probably overdose on boredom. Musicians for the most part would rather do the whole sex, drugs and rock and roll thing then say read a book or go on a hike.
I have so much more to say but I'm in a surly mood and ready to argue about anything so I'll shut up for the evening.

i am just going to say that everyone needs someone at some point in their life. are you alone? perhaps that is why you are so bitter. does no one care about you?
i would like to think that the kings of leon are bigger people than that and can see through all the shallow hype, past the groupies to meet girls who like them, just as they are.
but if they can't then i feel sorry for them. I haven't met them before, unlike you, but if i ever did i would give them a chance to show me what good or bad people they are.
you at this site aren't you? doesn't that make u a groupie?

i'd just like to point out that not ONE person on this board has said anything about fucking any of the band therefore NOT a groupie. From what i know from talking to people both on here and elsewhere people care far more about the music and the band rather than who they're fucking and how tight their pants are.
Secondly i think it's totally pathetic that 'rubberband', yet again, hasn't even got the balls to register on this forum.
And lastly, if you read 'rubberbands' other post, they were saying how shy Jared and Matthew are and how they didnt get laid enough on the road. Slightly hypocritical?
I pretty much agree with what everyone else has said so that is all.

come on, I am absolutely NO groupie and I met them last year. I mean, I'm 15 and the kings aren't famous here and so I just said hello and so on. For me it was more the great feeling of MEETING them, I went to many gigs for my age and have never had this luck before. OK, later that evening my friend and I were like "Oh, maybe we would have been able to get into the tour bus".No, I was excited enough. I think a real fan loves the music first and it's the greatest pleasure to only talk with the group. I would love to talk to them a bit longer (next tour?), cause I find them quite nice and funny in the interviews and after this gig. But the groupies don't care about the music, they care about the rockstars. I don't. That's all I wanted to write.

I thought of so many things to say as a response to your post, but then I thought 'why bother?'. So my question to you is this: Why did you bother to post this? Was it just to provoke a reaction? Is that because you are so desperate for attention in your life?
Also - why did you feel the need to put in there that you knew the band? It does not back up any of your points or observations. You just had to drop it in. Is that not being completely hypocritical?

All I can say is oh my! Sure there are crazed groupie fans when anyone makes good music. It does not have to be good music for them to go crazy. But, for the most part KOL have true fans. Their are ALWAYS those that let their hormones rage with desire and do not know how to control themselves, but that is what happens when you choose to be in the spotlight. These sites are created b/c one has a genuine love for music and it is a good place to meet other people with similiar interests. I think we all "know" these guys from listening to their music and reading articles about them. Writing is a way to express exactly how you are feeling and these guys just put music to the words they wrote and with that have relayed to us things about themselves. So, for you to say that you know them is really not a big deal. Don't we all know them....

You shouldn't worry what the band does,don't tell them how to do their job, we don't come to your work and tell you how to sweep the floors. Bagging someone because of the job that he or she might have is not considered to be a valid insult. It is degrading, rude and a cheap shot. Work is what everyone must do in order to survive. What that work is is often not the fault of the individual and should not be the basis of how you define and thus categorize someone. Cleaning is an admirable profession and does not warrent such a low attack. |
