Hola, I'm new here on the forum and was wondering how you guys 'discovered' or came across The Kings of Leon.

hi james and welcome to the board i first discovered the kings when they appeared on jools holland just before red morning light came out. they were fab on that show and i was just blown away by how raw and authentic they sound. thought jools scared them a bit tho, they looked pretty peturbed when he started asking them about their favourite tree.

I first heard of them from Noel saying that as well, but actually heard them when someone i know told me to download Holy Roller Novocaine and Red Morning Light, and it turned out i already knew Red Morning Light from a music channel, but I didnt know who it was, cuz i usually just have it on in the background.

( :PStaggers into room after sampling too much Followell Family moonshine...) Hello Followellers, Let me introduce myself, since this is my first post here, I'm JamiroFollowell, a newbie fan of Kings like everyone else. I'm primarily a Jamiroquai fan, but for the Kings I'll make a exception, their sound is truly special and absolutely ROCKS ! As in the first time I discovered the Kings, I picked up on their sound online surprisingly, just rope-a-doping through some music sites one day, then I saw a feature about them, listened to I think "Molly's Chambers" and I was instantly hooked to their awesome hard-boiled Southern alt rock! I plan to post here more, once I can remember too! Thanks for listening and Peace! Sincerely, JamiroFollowell P.S. I just kidding about the Moonshine bit! LOL!

I think I discovered them quite late. I noticed them in NME but didn't think much about it. Then I read a really good article and my dad bought be the album and I really liked them

lol good question James hiya by the way I watch a lot of MTV2 so i watched the red morning light vid and deliberately ignored them for about a day, i couldnt for any longer lol. I adored the song I still do but Caleb soo reminded me of this guy i loved for like 2 fuckin years i totally adored this guy and i really didnt want anything to do with a band that reminded me of him so much cos i was jst gettin ovr him (strange how i actually now really like his brother uhmm life uhmm strange anyway) I thought they were all like quite old hahahha i still laugh at mysel for that one! I jst adored red morning light sooo much i loved the way they sounded i loved calebs voice i loved the cowbell action i loved the vid i loved how different they looked and acted and i loved THEIRness if u get wat i mean. They jst got me mannn so bad i was jst like damn god fuckin damnit i really dnt wanna love ur band at all! i like them too much i hate it when i like things too much not gd! anyways i didnt really hav a lotta choice in it i loved them but i consolidated myself by telling myself that their ep would b awful and i would hate it so i went out and bought it and a kinda sweet sign ( i guess happened) i managed to get the last copy of holy roller novocaine that this store had in store it was the american version so i spent my last £10 that i had until i didnt know when on 'novocaine' and 'what i saw' took them home and jst went in a kinda laughing at myself way 'shit' its too late i love this band i really fuckin do u know i really really like alot of new bands but kol jst had that thing that i connected with on that level that u jstcan't fake, u know?! when a band like that get to u on that level u know u theres no choice in whether u want to like them or not cos u do u r HOOKED! anyways that makes me snd like a nutcase .. i hope not

I WANT TO SEE KOL AGAIN!!!!!!

I'd been reading about the KOL for a few months in the NME but never really thought anything of it. Then something just lit a fuse when I watched the 'behind the scenes' video on the kings' official website. Once I'd watched it I was completely blown away, I kept on watching the video over and over again and knew I had to buy their album. The problem was I was going on holiday the next day so just decided to get it when I got back, but about half way through the holiday I had a dream about seeing the KOL in a pub the next day I tried to get their album but couldn't find it anywhere where I was staying. I just had to wait until I got back and run down to Tescos to buy it, eversince I've been playing it non-stop. I don't know what it is about the KOL thats so amazing, I just sit listening to them and then start to smile which is something really special. About the t-shirt thing, I saw at least 10 people wearing them at the Leeds festival. I tried to get one in MVC, size XL only!

aww u tried HMV? cuz i saw that they had size mediums but that was ages ago, they have probably sold out now!
i know about 25 people that would say (if you asked them the question of this topic) 'my friend sel told me about the kings of leon, and i love them now'. cool huh!? loads of people who i wouldnt expect to like kol, do. and a lot of them bought the album. one person downloaded it. i was MAD!

well... i discovered them when i read a positive review of their album (and i remember the date too, it was the 4th of July). it seemed like they had a good thing going, and the pic of them didn't scare me off you know .. so as soon as i got home from my summer cottage in the archipelago i downloaded red morning light, and i loved it... so i downloaded a few more songs and i loved them too! it took me a while until i bought the album, since i was going away to prague and stuff, but since i bought it i've been listening to it a lot and i really love the kings. caleb's voice is so amazing and their songs really rock! now it seems like i may get to meet them too, if they only could get their asses over to Sweden (i have some contacts who sorta know them) i'd so love to meet them and see them live... anyways, that's my very intriguing story...
